Nice to see Charlie apologise for slavery. The same slavery that benefitted his own family so much. And nice to see the spirit of BLM get a name check on this great occasion.

As the great Paul Weller sang "You dont have to take this crap".

It's why they are propping up Canada with such effort in an attempt to make us a part of AUKUS even though we don't have a military or even a desire to stand for human rights here or abroad (we talk a good game though). "Keep Canada close and in the loop and ensure the Brits have some influence".

England has made multiple errors that have hurt themselves and U.S interests. America has made the most errors post WWII by believing that a certain block of intelligence sharing with allies was a good idea. Maybe your allies and some in these agencies weren't always interested in American Values?

The irony. In weakening America, in fact the Brits and the Royal Family were also weakened. Without Americas undisputed position as #1 Super Power, it's far more difficult to maintain loyalty from nations. Britains economy is like Canadas, lacking innovation, creativity and Free Market principles. It's greatest asset was it's promoted "special relationship" with America (more irony).

Canada is their last Crown Jewel. If the Monarchy were smart they would demand that Canada upholds civil liberties and human rights in Canada. Since they don't, there are plenty of disgruntled Canadians. Arrogance, as always, ensures the crumbling of empires.

It's only a matter of time before a Canadian leader says "it's time to leave the monarchy". There will be plenty of new Canadians with no connection to the monarchy who agree.

I don't get what all that fuss is about. They became independent more than 50 years ago. The Queen has been only a nominal ruler. Will that help them to create fairer and more prosperous society? Maybe, who knows. I wouldn't count only on that.
