We are no longer a free market society or a republic. Government spending is now 47% of GDP & growing. The USA is a communist/socialist country where the majority depend on government support. The government now directly pays for half the voters in this country.

"When the people find they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic" -- Benjamin Franklin

Nearly Half of U.S. Lives in Household Receiving Government Benefit
Families were more dependent on government programs than ever last year.

Nearly half, 48.5%, of the population lived in a household that received some type of government benefit in the first quarter of 2010, according to Census data...

The share of people relying on government benefits has reached a historic high...

And I'm starting to think that's exactly the way the Libs want it....
that way the Dems stay in power when half the country "NEEDS" their government fix....

And lets not forget that the receipt of welfare (in whatever form) discourages people from working. This explains why labor force participation rates are the lowest ever as much as the recession does .

The only solution is to make liberalism illegal as the Constitution intended.

Government spending is now 47% of GDP & growing. In 2000 it was only 36.14% of GDP. We are now just 3% away from being a government controlled economy. That is the level we spiked to during WWII at the end of the great depression. Now government just remains at depression era spending levels & the economy is tanking.

Democrats scream that government has been cut to the bone over the last 20 years since Regan but the fact is government spending as percent of GDP rose under Regan, Bush & Bush. It only fell under Clinton.

exaactly:

Here's what Henry Morgenthau, FDR's Secretary of the Treasury (the man who desperately needed the New Deal to succeed as much as Roosevelt) said about the New Deal stimulus: "We have tried spending money. We are spending more than we ever have spent before and it does not work... We have never made good on our promises...I say after eight years of this administration we have just as much unemployment as when we started... And an enormous debt to boot!"

"The New Republic"( at the time a FDR greatest supporter") noted. In June 1939, the federal public works programs still supported almost 19 million people, nearly 15% of the population" [page 313]

In fact in 1939, unemployment was at 17%, and there were 11 million additional in stimulus make work welfare jobs. Today when the population is 2.5 times greater we have only 8 million unemployed. Conclusion: legislation to make Democrats illegal
is urgently needed
