Many of these people and their families are working plush jobs as part of the kakistocracy.

No problem Canada, you will reap what you sow. Well done. With our best and brightest leaving, who is left?

Nearly half of Canada's population has a big roadblock ahead of them when it comes to post-pandemic economic recovery — and it's not the novel coronavirus but a fundamental set of skills for daily life.

Poor reading, writing and numeracy skills in adults make up a literacy gap in Canada with consequences for both democracy and the economy. Experts say the gap is due in part to an abundance of jobs in the past that do not require the daily use of reading comprehension and information synthesis skills.

In short, literacy is not like riding a bike. While Canadians tend to leave the high school level with these skills, it takes practice to retain them and Canada's economy does not provide the opportunity to do that for many workers.

Isn’t that a good thing? After all, literacy is one of the signs of White Supremacy.

Yeah, it's not like these workers don't count change when they buy something.

I

I heard that the other half of the Canadians were too illiterate to even begin to know how to struggle with illiteracy? Don't panic though as Americans can pull off a victory here, like in just four short years we Americans can swoop in on our Canadian neighbors & take that "most illiterate western nation title" from you Kanooks with the greatest of ease! Americans cannot stand to be bettered even in illiteracy like we'll show you Kanooks just how illiterate we Americans can be even if we gotta vote JJJumpin' Joe Biden back in office for a second term gawdamit!

Dare one ask: What is the impact of the members of the First Nations on these statistics? Are they counted? Do they raise or lower the averages? Just wondering.

I didn't look at the methodology, but this is from the article:

However, the lowest-scoring groups also include a significant number of Indigenous people in Canada, as well as English and French speakers born in this country.

We've been failing our citizens because those who hitch a free ride, especially members of the covert kakistocracy, are NOT interested in the well being of the nation, but only their inflated budgets and undeserved salaries.

Thus, we are going to continue to decline and get crushed in the competitive, innovative global economy.

So if you exclude the Indigenous, and native French & English speakers, what's left? Immigrants, who tend to be quite literate.

Contrast that with our US immigrants (legal and otherwise), who are largely foreign-speaking, uneducated, and not literate in either their native language or English. Thank God for the legal immigrants who contribute to the American mosaic.
