Nazis on drugs.

Actually drug abuse was common on both sides during that war, Tommy. Allied flight crews regularly used amphetamines to stay awake during long flights.

"A substance that could “integrate shirkers, malingerers, defeatists and whiners” into the labour market might even be sanctioned. At a company called Temmler in Berlin, Dr Fritz Hauschild, its head chemist, inspired by the successful use of the American amphetamine Benzedrine at the 1936 Olympic Games, began trying to develop his own wonder drug – and a year later, he patented the first German methyl-amphetamine. Pervitin, as it was known, quickly became a sensation, used as a confidence booster and performance enhancer by everyone from secretaries to actors to train drivers (initially, it could be bought without prescription). It even made its way into confectionery. “Hildebrand chocolates are always a delight,” went the slogan. Women were recommended to eat two or three, after which they would be able to get through their housework in no time at all – with the added bonus that they would also lose weight, given the deleterious effect Pervitin had on the appetite. Ohler describes it as National Socialism in pill form."

And we still have anti-depressants today.

Its a bit depressing.

From the article, looks like Hitler got on to this from being a vegetarian. The doctor first was giving him animal hormones for this. Then, when that didn't work, the doctor gave him opiates and then cocaine.

So he might have won if he had have given his stomach and brain some meat.

That Nazis wounded during their Putsch attempt were treated in the underground and stayed long time on opiates. Most never recovered from their addiction.

Only a few were wounded in that. Most of the nazis on morphine were on it from ww1. Back in those days if someone was on it they never took them off, even if they died in the 70s. Even in Australia.

No doubt the sadistic cultural marxists in healthcare started to ween the poor old gentlemen off in the 90s with bloody anti-depressants. God rest their souls.

Why should it be a surprise that criminal decadent criminal regimes like the Nazi's supplied their leaders with all the freaking drugs that they wanted or needed or relied on? The 30's was a brave new world of miracle drugs and laboratory creations and drug abuse. Watch out when you open a Pandora's Box regarding drug use (abuse) by world leaders during the same era. Stalin was a drunk and FDR was a sick man and the diagnosis of "polio" might have been incorrect. With the cooperation of the liberal media, the administration took great pains to portray him as a robust president. It's possible that he suffered a series of strokes during a crucial time during his 3rd term but his medical records disappeared from a locked safe shortly after his death and the liberal media wasn't curious enough to investigate. JFK suffered from chronic pain from a chronic back problem aggravated by his Navy service in WW2 and the liberal media must have known about his reliance on a Dr. Feelgood painkiller drugs but the media created the mythical Camelot and investigative reporting wasn't on the agenda.
