People who proposed natural immunity were mocked and on social media they were banned.

Years after the rollout of vaccine mandates that led to the firing of thousands of workers, the Lancet has reported that natural immunity is just as effective as two doses of the Moderna or Pfizer shots in preventing both reinfection and serious illness from COVID-19.
The findings, which were published in the February edition of the prestigious medical journal, were based on a review of 65 separate studies from 19 different countries.
“Although protection from reinfection from all variants wanes over time, our analysis of the available data suggests that the level of protection afforded by previous infection is at least as high, if not higher than that provided by two-dose vaccination using high-quality mRNA vaccines,” the report declared.
The research was funded in part by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, with senior study author, Dr. Christopher Murray hailing the findings.

Three years after the fact, the truth finally comes out that:
  1. It really never was Trump's fault at all.
  2. Ivermectin and some other things really do work and could have saved many lives.
  3. Masks were only intended to stop people from coughing on you as they stand over you.
  4. The vaccine won't stop you from getting sick.
  5. The vaccine certainly won't stop transmission to others.
  6. Natural immunity really does count for as much or more than getting a vaccine like every other virus.
  7. You really CAN'T develop a safe vaccine in only 18 months compared to 18 years.
  8. The entire pandemic was an exercise in government panic, control and a few companies getting filthy rich.
  9. The truth in all of this was hid from you for two years by both the government and the media.

Non-Democrats didn't "know" all of that about natural immunity back before numerous studies proved us right. Nor could we "prooooove it!" to Democrats who had made up their mind to swallow the lies whole. We just used common sense, and a healthy skepticism about government to calculate that we were being bamboozled by people with a political agenda.

There never was even close to the amount of evidence for the effectiveness of vaccines and isolation that should have been required to turn the economy upside down and separate families from their loved ones. But, as one honest young Democrat stated early on, it meant that Trump "won't have his beautiful economy," and that was enough for the partisans.

One (1) Democrat said something.
Is that your scandal for today, bleach sipper?

  1. It doesn't say what some people are clearly interpreting it as saying.
  2. So do you suddenly believe everything funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation now or what?
Key stuff:
Maintaining surveillance systems that track infections and variant emergence (eg, the Real-time Assessment of Community Transmission study has been an effective tool for monitoring the spread and emergence of variants in England) and spread will continue to be an important aspect of managing current and future COVID-19 transmission. Second, restrictions of movement and access to venues based on immune status and vaccine mandates for workers should take into account immunity conferred by vaccination and that provided by natural infection. Countries have taken different approaches to this; for example, immunity from past infection was considered as part of eligibility for the EU COVID certificate but not in countries such as the USA or Australia. Third, the protection afforded by past infection should be considered in guidelines for when people should receive vaccine doses, including boosters. Fourth, as new variants emerge, as highlighted by the omicron variant, timely and well conducted epidemiological studies are needed to understand not only protection afforded by vaccination but also past infection, although it is important to note that the ability to assess protection conferred by infection, by comparing individuals unvaccinated and previously infected to those who are unvaccinated and COVID-19 naive, is increasingly challenging given the small number of people who are unvaccinated and COVID-19 naive remaining in many populations.

Like claiming, natural immunity is just as effective against the flu, as getting a flu shot.

Notice how everyone's such a genius in hindsight?
They were all such geniuses without it too!

So August West, how many things from the following list can reasonably be said to follow from the findings published in the OP Lancet study?:

Which make sense regardless?
Which don't?

I didn't know this was in contention.

How many times do you have to catch COVID to have natural immunity?

The Lancet is one of the oldest and most prestigious medical journals in the world. It was founded in 1823 by Thomas Wakley, a radical reformer who aimed to report on the metropolitan hospital lectures and cases of the day. The journal has played an important role in medical and hospital reform movements in Britain and has become a highly respected source of medical research and evidence-based medicine around the world. The journal has an impact factor of 202.731, ranking it first among general medical journals. The journal also publishes several specialty journals, such as The Lancet Neurology, The Lancet Oncology, and The Lancet Infectious Diseases, which have built up strong reputations in their medical fields.

Well, since you dragged this sorry topic back up, kicking and screaming, apparently just to to pat The Lancet on the back.. lol..

Let's review, with the benefit of hindsight, a sampling of the shameless lies that were catapulted:
People who proposed natural immunity were mocked and on social media they were banned.
Half true. Many people had deliberately spread medical disinformation, including posting false and stupid claims about "natural immunity." Many, certainly not all, were indeed mocked and banned from social media and rightfully so.

Years after the rollout of vaccine mandates that led to the firing of thousands of workers,

False. Even if true nationwide, the provided link (from the NYP, lol) only says "more than 1,750." That's not "thousands" liar, liar, pants on fire.

the Lancet has reported that natural immunity is just as effective as two doses of the Moderna or Pfizer shots in preventing both reinfection and serious illness from COVID-19.

False. That poorly concocted text appears exactly nowhere within the linked results provided. The phrase "reinfection and serious illness" -- not there. The phrase "natural immunity is just as effective" -- baloney.

Here's the actual, unmolested quote:
Our analysis found significantly reduced protection against re-infection from the omicron BA.1 variant but that levels of protection against severe disease remained high. Although protection from re-infection from all variants wanes over time, our analysis of the available data suggests that the level of protection afforded by previous infection is at least as high, if not higher than that provided by two-dose vaccination using high-quality mRNA vaccines (Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech), as documented by Nassereldine and colleagues, in our companion study. To our knowledge, this is the first review to comprehensively assess natural immunity protection against COVID-19 re-infection by variant (primary infection and re-infection) and to evaluate waning immunity with time since primary infection.

"previous infection" (not "natural immunity") vs. "two-dose
vaccination"

"natural immunity" vs. "COVID-19 re-infection by variant (primary infection and re-infection) and to evaluate waning immunity with time since primary infection."

Some folks need to get the shit out of their heads, eyes, and ears.

The Vax is very good for those who don't have the opportunity or the ability to be exposed to Covid.

Business and Government have the right to require vaxxes. Tough bunnies.
