Rep. Tim Ryan's (D-Ohio) long-shot challenge to House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi (Calif.) has shone a rare public spotlight on rank-and-file frustrations that have simmered, largely in whispers, for more than half a decade.

“It's not just about messaging,” said Rep. Bill Pascrell (D-N.J.). It's about “who the hell we are [and] where we're going.”
In the view of Ryan and some other newer lawmakers, regional diversity is key, and the only way to reverse the party’s misfortunes is through a changing of the guard at the very top.
Ryan says Pelosi, a liberal icon from San Francisco who's radioactive in the eyes of conservatives, simply doesn't speak to the Rust-Belt workers like those in his district, where voters split the ballot in favor of him and Donald Trump, the Republican president-elect.

California has been the main base of power for democrats for decades. Its not only moving speakership its moving their base.I actually think what happens with Pelosi is more interesting than who Trump picks for his cabinet. I have no sense which way it's going to go.
I see one choice that MIGHT work for them. The Mayor Deblabbo runs for a house seat in the off year becomes minority speaker. New York is the only democrat state still stable enough to replace California.Since Pelosi is the main cash cow of house Ds this should be interesting.

Three economic problems with this idea:
Having massive state and local taxes is already causing mass emigration from the Blue wall. This will get much worse if federal tax rates are reduced as planned this will get much worse fast.
The bond ratings and yields for munis from the true blue states sound like those of a banana republic when adjusted for current tax rates. Any increase in rates and a lot of blue states will join CA in being parttime banana republics
The prospect of having federal funds withheld as planned will likely put many of them over the edge even with complete capitulation prior to action being taken.
The blue wall ceasing to exist except as wards of federal bankruptcy courts under Chapter 3 by 2018 is very high. NY, CA and IL are trying to migrate to FL, GA, NC, TX & VA is happening while I type So those state may be the new blue wall.

Oh please, please,please demos, don't get rid of ye ole wrinkled leader. She is divisive, rude, ugly and generally unlikable. Which makes her perfect to continue the unraveling of the American Socialist party, or commonly known as democrats.
