Economists are great as long as they stay in their lane: Straight, boring data and trend analysis and forecasting.

Unfortunately, when they mix political ideology in with their work, they become all but worthless. Or even dangerous.

PC, you might have mentioned in the text the dateline of those articles. Some of us don't read the linked articles.

A "lie" is something that is known to be untrue by the speaker at the moment when the statement is uttered. Calling these "lies" distorts the meaning of the word, to which "we" all objected copiously when it was done to The Donald.

Krugman is one of those guys (like J. "Snakehead" Carville) who has been so consistently wrong about substantive issues that his column should have been cancelled a long time ago. Although in fairness, I thought he was full of beans when he said many years ago that huge deficits would not cripple the government...and he was right...so far.
