My State of Texas Tells Teachers: TIME TO ARM - YEEEHAW!

Mr. Ken Paxton, the AG here in Texas told Newsmax that it was time to arm our teachers and have shootouts in the playground - that will help solve the school shooting issue here in Texas. I hope teachers get a little bit of training that way when a 5 year old asks them "What is that, Mrs. Jones?" she can give a strong answer "That is in case Mrs. Jones needs to blow a shooter's brain out, Timmy - go back to recess."

Thoughts on telling teachers to get armed and be ready for a gunfight?

There were 2 teen knife deaths in the 60s, so the PTA demanded there always be at least 2 armed teachers to defend the students who were under school supervision. And that ended all the violence. There no longer was any problem.
Anyone who does not get that, should ask why police are armed?

Seems like a good idea until some smart ass kid pisses off a stressed out armed teacher and the shooting starts.

A chance of creating that threat, no matter how large, is better than having kids actually fucking graduate from school.

Do you know how much Texas will save by not having to educated all these kids getting killed in schools???? Do you?

The cost of education is not dependent upon how many students there are at any one particular time.
The cost comes mostly from schools having to meet the largest amount.
When there are years with smaller amounts of students, they can't shrink the buildings or fire teachers.
They just switch to small class sizes and you get better quality education.

The US has more guns than people.

But not where the people with guns need to be.
Since the teachers are "en loco parentis", they have a responsibility to defend our kids from any possible armed attack, while the kids are at school.
By having no security or arms, teachers are failing our children.
They do not have to shoot intruders, but could just have cameras and electric door locks.

Anyone can get a gun and shoot 19 elementary kids and you call the other side amoral...

The laws you support enables mentally unstable people get access to guns... These deaths are on your hands..

So go fuck yourself calling other amoral.. Have a look in the mirror buddy..

What is amoral is not being able to defend the children at school.
It would not be hard, and does not even require armed guards or arming teachers.
Just cameras and electric door locks.

There have always been armed teachers and they have never started the shooting.
Do you remember "West Side Story"?
The only difference is students could not afford guns back then so used knives.

No right is absolute... Every gun should have proper insurance that can cover an event like this one...

The insurance claim on this particular event will be 10s of millions... Gun owners should take responsibility for owning a gun and have the proper insurance in place...

I would expect Insurance companies to offer major discounts for for all safety and responsible measures taken by gun owners like having Background checks, Gun safe, training,..

Why should the rest of America subside the ones that wish to own guns.. Only 1 in 5 households have handguns, let them pay for it...

Insurance should be illegal.
It is extortion.
You are forced to prepay, so you lose any ability to argue cost or quality.
Its a monopoly, like the way doctors refuse to see any one without insurance.

We do it for cars

It should be illegal for cars as well, since the charges are not universal, fair, or based on ability to pay.
There is illegal red lining, price gouging, failure to pay up after an accident, etc.
Insurance amounts to extortion.

The alternative is you pay hundreds of thousands out of pocket

Do you think I was being serious?

The point being made is that Texas puts guns ahead of kids and their education and their lives.
