I bought my first cowboy revolver, a Heritage Arms Rough Rider model SASS with a 6.5 inch. barrel. It came with a .22lr and a .22mag cylinder, holster, trigger lock and wooden storage box for $170 new. It also has a hammer block safety.
I really didn't expect much in the way of accuracy, I just wanted something to practice with in .22lr.
Color me surprised when my shot groups look like this at 30 feet.
(Sorry about the fuzzy pic, cell cam sucks)
I highly recommend this weapon as a practice revolver. The only downside is it does not have a swing out cylinder and of course, being a SA model, you must span the hammer manually before firing.
Still, for the money, you'll be hard pressed to do better. Plus it is manufactured in Miami, FL so you're buying American.
