Totalitarianism is a mechanism for wielding political power... it can be applied equally to the support of both left and right wing ideologies.

The only thing that Totalitarianism can't support is true Capitalism. Any political system that controls market forces stifles and adulterates Capitalism.

Right-wing conservatism has produced nearly as many political prisoners and death squads as left-wing socialism.

Both right and left wing philosophies see criticism of the state as a threat to their power and are known to use totalitarianism to eliminate it.
