Lots of outright misinformation here. First one.... The Iraq Government not only DIDN'T vote to ask us to leave, they are telling Congress they want us to stay at LEAST 2 more YEARS.

If we abandon Iraq before it can protect its borders and have a semblence of Internal security we will be handing the Country, its people and its oil to terrorists controlled most likely by Iran.

And we will just have to return to do it all over again in a few years.

Provide one shred of evidence that Bush KNEW there were no WMD's, explain why everyone else believed he had them as well if it was all a lie. Explain how the Idiot Savant Bush managed to control this "fabricated" intelligence or even "cherry picked" intelligence and ensure only his version of Intel was seen by Congress. Further explain why after over 4 years no one has come forward to provide that "smoking gun" testimony of how Bush and Company illegally prevented Congress from obtaining independent briefings.

Explain why a Clinton Appointed CIA director would willfully lie for a Republican President. Explain why even his book makes no such claim. Explain why he admitted he told the President it was a sure thing about WMD's.

Explain why every European Country except France, Germany and Belgium supported the Invasion. Is it your claim that these independent Countries were somehow lied to by Bush? That he "cherry picked" THEIR intelligence?

Explain why the UN wanted to continue inspections for WMD's if everyone knew there were none. Explain why the Investigations into whether Bush or staff lied all found no such thing occurred.

The difference is that you're basing your reasoning on the notion that this conflict can be won militarily. If we can beat "them," then why not call them idiots. It only reinforces their position as the enemy.

Personally, I don't think the war on terror can be won militarily. It's not that I don't want to win it militarily, I wish it were that easy. I look at this as something that needs to be resolved through diplomatic means. I know you probably think that that's impossible, but I don't. So, logically, to me, being sensitive to them and abandoning the hawkish tendencies inherent in the ethnocentric perception of patriotism is the first step in actually making long-lasting process-- not just patching up one region while the terrorists just run to another.

Last week, I spent two days staying with Abdullah and Shahida Rehman and their family in Birmingham. The experience has strengthened my conviction about the right way to build a more cohesive Britain.

First, a concerted attack on racism and soft bigotry. You can't even start to talk about a truly integrated society while people are suffering racist insults and abuse, as many still are in our country on a daily basis. We must also be careful about the language we use. No Muslim I've ever met is offended by Christmas, or supports its replacement with 'Winterval'. But many Muslims I've talked to about these issues are deeply offended by the use of the word 'Islamic' or 'Islamist' to describe the terrorist threat we face today.
