It's always the peons(clerks, janitors etc.), that get economically tortured in a war. Everything goes to the war machine but precious little, if anything @ all, goes towards the peons. If lucky the peons may get drafted into the invading countries military where a bullet is a lot sweeter way to check out of this existence than starving to death. As long as the human condition(human nature) remains corrupted we as humanity are doomed to repeat our past history, just the way it is.
