Murder laws shouldn't apply to women in certain cases

Dunno how things work in Canada, but, "Professor Sheehy’s thesis is that women who experience extreme chronic abuse from their male partners should have the right to kill them pre-emptively — in their sleep, say, or when they least expect it — without fear of being charged with murder." Assuming that characterization is accurate, there's 911 and the police after the first incident. If you stick around in an abusive relationship that's your problem. Trying to justify 1st degree murder because you get hit is ridiculous.

You can already use lethal force if defending yourself or another if 'in reasonable fear of your life.' Don't need some new definition or condition where you can wait until well after the fact when calm and then bushwhack somebody.
