Multiple Victims at Indianapolis FedEx Facility

Oh this is terrible...we need to take a look at guns. This pandemic has caused so much mental stress on people, goodness.
It is no wonder that you are " Proud to be hated by the mods " as claimed in your adolescent signature.
Prayers up for the victims and their families. I'm so sorry to hear this. :hands:

So you want to outlaw handguns?

I knew it, you lefties want full confiscation.

Fuck all of you.

Oh this is terrible...we need to take a look at guns. This pandemic has caused so much mental stress on people, goodness.

Don't look at my guns. They were not involved.

Perhaps if media would stop sensationalizing local events into national crises the crazy people who Democrats refuse to lock up would have less to live up to.

Yep....they turn these shootings into the Oscars of crime....these mental cases who do the shootings see how they are covered, then, when they plan on committing suicide, they follow the example and go to a public place.......

What people need to understand is that newspapers, when they existed....used to publish the suicide deaths of teenagers......then they stopped doing this because simply publishing the news inspired other teenagers to commit suicide. There is a copy cat dynamic that the press just encourages with their coverage. It also doesn't help that the democrat party press wants to splash these events across the country so they can push gun control...even though these are the rarest of rare events...more people die falling from ladders than die from mass public shootings each year.....
They need to stfu and understand that guns make you safer until you get shot .So safe, in fact, that the US leads the developed world in gun deaths. Its just common sense.

Americans use guns 1.1 million times a year to stop violent criminals. Rape, robbery and murder, stopped and the victims saved by legal guns....

Can you tell which number is bigger?

1.1 million defensive uses of guns....

10 mass public shootings in 2019.

1 mass public shooting in 2020......

Lives saved....

And that doesn't include the check on government murder...which you ignore since you Europeans allowed 12 million innocent men, women and children be slaughtered by the German socialists...

The looney leftist press have to wait until his Majesty Biden gets his marching orders from the self-proclaimed most powerful woman in the world

Did you see him sabre rattling to China?

Including the stuttering?

As for her, I can’t make out what she’s talking about, other than defending the Constitution.

Oh this is terrible...we need to take a look at guns. This pandemic has caused so much mental stress on people, goodness.
I'm shocked!
No not with the fact there has been another mass shooting but with people on this thread's reaction to it.
It's almost like total acceptance that this is and always will be the norm - like someone announced bread gone up a dollar.
We have of course the usual looney suggesting the answer is that everybody should walk around like Rambo
with at least an automatic rifle, handgun, and several belts of ammo thrown over each shoulder, schoolkids and Nunns included.

When the fuck are you going to take active measures to stop it?
It can’t be stopped , it’s impossible
I agree there is no answer. As a liberal I’m inclined to shout about gun control but in the end most of these shooters will find a gun.

I think we’ll need to go the way of El Salvador which means armedguards at every Wendy’s, school, and work place in America. Jobs jobs jobs I guess.
Again I'm shocked by your passive acceptance that change is not possible but one thing I don't understand is why the victim's families haven't sued the gun manufacturers.
Provided you can get it on camera you yanks seem to sue for the slightest thing - if someone gives you a dirty look they are in court. America is known as the land of Lawsuits. So if the families had sued, the gun manufacturers would after all the victims over all the decades have surely gone bust by now. So why didn't they?

I listened to a podcast by Michael Moore last week over the Denver mass shooting.
I was surprised that 73% of Americans don't even own a gun. And a large majority want far-reaching gun control laws. Although the Democrats now have a majority in the Senate they still can't get reforms through because as Moore says Republicans use the old filibuster trick of talking until the Bill runs out of time. Moore suggests that everybody needs to phone their senator's office and complain. Senators will only do something if they think they are going to lose votes. So you need to do that and get every member of the family to do the same. Even phone other state senators and pretend you live there and get all the family and friends doing the same.

Moore is lying.......

Rasmussen Report shows 47% of American households own guns, 27% of households with guns have bought one in the last six months - Crime Prevention Research Center

A new Rasmussen Report survey shows that 47 percent of American households own a gun, with 5 percent either not sure/refusing to answer the question. Assuming that 47 percent of those who aren’t sure or refusing to answer whether they own a gun actually do, half of American households own guns. (The survey of 1,000 Likely Voters was conducted August 5, 2020 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence.)
While men were more likely than women to own a gun (54 to 41 percent) and whites were more likely than blacks (50 to 26 percent), those differences appear to be shrinking. Twenty-seven percent of household have bought a gun in the last five months. Women were more likely than men to buy a gun (32 to 23 percent), blacks were much more likely than whites (47 to 22 percent), and the young were much more likely than old (42 percent for those 18 to 39 versus 20 percent for those 40 to 64 and just 12 percent for those 65 and older).

Over the last 27 years, we went from 200 million guns in private hands in the 1990s and 4.7 million people carrying guns for self defense in 1997...to close to 400-600 million guns in private hands and over 19.4 million people carrying guns for self defense in 2019...guess what happened...

New Concealed Carry Report For 2020: 19.48 Million Permit Holders, 820,000 More Than Last Year despite many states shutting down issuing permits because of the Coronavirus - Crime Prevention Research Center

-- gun murder down 49%

--gun crime down 75%

--violent crime down 72%

Gun Homicide Rate Down 49% Since 1993 Peak; Public Unaware

Compared with 1993, the peak of U.S. gun homicides, the firearm homicide rate was 49% lower in 2010, and there were fewer deaths, even though the nation’s population grew. The victimization rate for other violent crimes with a firearm—assaults, robberies and sex crimes—was 75% lower in 2011 than in 1993. Violent non-fatal crime victimization overall (with or without a firearm) also is down markedly (72%) over two decades.

Hey....Oz guy....

This should only be surprising to those idealistic and gullible supporters of gun confiscation who really believe that criminals are going to abide by gun control laws even though they don’t seem to care much about any other laws on the books.

A new report by Radio New Zealand shows that even after the government’s ban and compensated confiscation of tens of thousands of semi-automatic firearms, “gun crime hit a new peak” in the country last year.

------

Police had told her that “guns were increasingly present”, Ardern said.

“We have removed a particular form of weapon from circulation. But that does not mean of course that there are not still weapons in use by gangs, or that they are not available. … These are things that are going to take some time to turn around.”

Report: New Zealand Gun Confiscations Had No Impact On Violent Crime

IndyStar said:
"Police believe the shooter has died by suicide. Cook said officials do not believe there is an active threat to the community".

:safetocomeoutff: So, America is safe now, huh? :777:

Meanwhile....

320 million Americans.

600 million guns in private hands that were not used in any crime.

Over 19.4 million Americans can legally carry guns in public for self defense.

Americans use those legal guns 1.1 million times a year, on average, to stop violent crimes, rape, robbery, murder, even mass public shootings, according to our Sainted Centers for Disease Control.

How many mass public shootings in 2018...12

How many in 2019....10.

How many in 2020....1.

Guns aren't the problem. Mental Health care is the problem.
Guns don't kill. The people pulling the trigger kill. That is why it is extremely important that Americans (in particular) should not be allowed to own firearms.

Yes it appears gun confiscation and eliminating the people’s right to self defense is the natural progression of a tyrannical government and global ultra rich elite.
You yanks have a weird attitude to government.

The Government you have just elected is an extension of the people - they are your representatives chosen and given authority by you to make laws and only govern on your behalf. The Government ARE the people and vice versa!
Why do you right-wingers always assume you will have to defend yourself against yourself? What sort of law do you think they are going to pass that would entitle you to take up arms against well... yourselves?

As for self defence, what s.d. did the little 6yo tots at Sandy Hook have?

These mass shootings are down now to an almost weekly occurrence and are exclusive to the US as no other developed country has this same particular problem.
Why do you think that is?

The government elected in 1930s Germany? Was that a reflection of the people...? Did they expect their government to murder 12 million innocent men, women and children?

Do you accumulate mass shooting data during each president?

It's worth mentioning these mass shootings are happening during Biden's presidency since he announced a set of executive actions and legislative proposals on gun control. Will he go even further?
What an idiotic argument. The biggest mass shooting in US history occurred under Trump. The greatest number of mass shooting in the USA occurred in 2018. Guess who was president?
You're full of crap.
The biggest mass shooting happened on June 12th 2016. Who was president then?
I guess you forgot the Orlando nightclub shooting. 50 people dead.
The greatest number of mass shootings happened in 2017 with over 160 dead.
You'd better recheck your facts.

Sandy Hook was chosen because it was a gun free zone. The killer had attended the middle school and the highschool, as well as Sandy Hook, but they had armed police on site...so he chose the gun free zone school instead.

There are 52 weeks in the year...

there were 10 mass public shootings in 2019....

One in 2020...

Can you do the math..........does that come out to weekly in New Zealand?

Meanwhile...more people in America die falling off of ladders than die in mass public shootings.....

300 die in ladder falls.

less than 80 in mass public shootings.

Anti Americanism is rife in the EU.

More so when there’s a Republican in the White House. Almost by default.

What a stupid thread .

Clearly the problem is GUNS

What is your solution? Be specific.

Suicide alone is a reason to curb the prevalence of guns on our society.

Attempted suicide with a gun is almost always successful

Not so by other means.

Mass shootings is another. They are so random and can affect anyone anywhere
Oh god no--------------if someone wants to kill themselves-let them. Many serial and other murderers start off failing to kill themselves. Someone willing to kill themselves for no logical reason-----are people who have blurred lines on life and death. Other people who have a reason like dying from a painful disease--have the right to kill themselves. Who are you to decide they don't have the right over their body and lives.

Do you accumulate mass shooting data during each president?

No, the problem isn't guns....the problem with gun crime and gun murder is the democrat party releasing violent gun offenders from jail and prison over and over again.....it is these individuals...known, repeat offenders, who commit over 95% of our gun crime and gun murder....and their release to do it over and over again is a direct result of the democrat party.

Mass public shootings are the rarest of rare events.......

People falling off ladders and dying....300 a year...

Lawn mower deaths....90 per year.....

mass public shooting deaths in

2020....5
2019....73
2018.....93
2017........117

2015......37

2007...54
2006...21
2005...17
2004...5
2003...7
2002...not listed by mother jones
2001...5
2000...7
1999...42
1998...14
1997...9

So every year, more people die falling from ladders....just about every year more people die from lawn mowers .....

Do you want to ban ladders and lawn mowers?

Read this, and inform yourself.

Be that as it may, having a mass shooting a week is cause for consternation, wouldn't you agree? People out getting a loaf of bread, a massage, going to work, gunned down randomly en masse, weekly.

That's why, in MY state, people (myself included) carry....it's called constitutional carry and I am a HUGE believer.

I used my pistol once in my life. I was in the Army and I was forced to shoot an armed suspect. I hated having to take a life, but had I not, the suspect would have killed his Wife and his child (and probably me). Ain't happening....not today, not tomorrow, not ever.

I make no apologies for carrying, nor do I imagine, the thousands of citizens in the 12-15 states that have constitutional carry.

An armed person is a citizen. An unarmed person is a subject.

These mass shootings are down now to an almost weekly occurrence and are exclusive to the US as no other developed country has this same particular problem.
Why do you think that is?
It's scary. It's never been this bad before, and we've got equally troubling cases brewing of cops shooting and killing unarmed suspects who attempt to flee. The cops wouldn't be overreacting like that if the citizenry weren't so heavily armed and prone to shoot at them. It's a nightmare.

During this past year with all the disruption of lockdowns, widespread rioting and atrocious fear mongering on social media that the Dems are going to confiscate all guns, the sale of guns, particularly AR's, has soared. The NRA's dream of " buy more guns" has come true and it doesn't seem to be having the promised effect of making us safer.

This is part of what I think is going on: mental health has been challenged with all that's happened in the past 13 months, and people who were fragile and hanging on by a thread thanks to frequent contact via counseling and the support of group meetings were cancelled. Zoom meetings aren't the same, either for the counselor, psychiatrist or client. People became more and more isolated, feeding off bullshit on social media like Q, fantasizing uninterrupted, and they finally snap.

At least that's part of it. We've always put mental health last. Seeking help is seen as weakness. There are people who even insist that it's the medications that cause insane violent behavior, disregarding that if they weren't already having issues, they wouldn't be on those medications to begin with.

Three hundred years ago, my direct ancestors were fighting for their lives in their own homes against the French and the Indians. Two hundred years ago, people out west were fighting Indians and lawless criminals because of nonexistent law enforcement in many newly settled areas. It's not like England, which was more or less civilized centuries earlier. Sure you folks had your civil war, but outsiders? Nah. So, Americans still see guns as necessary to safety, even though that's not been necessarily true for a couple hundred years. Embedded cultural values change slowly. Colt and Ruger are only too happy to oblige.

The increase in violence in democrat party controlled cities is not from normal people owning and carrying guns....as 27 years of actual experience show...

Our recent increase in violent crime is a direct result of the democrat party making war on the police.....

27 years, more people owning and carrying guns and gun murder going down 49%, gun crime going down 75%....

7 months of democrats attacking the police and taking their funding....and crime goes up...

You don't know what you are talking about.....

Over the last 27 years, we went from 200 million guns in private hands in the 1990s and 4.7 million people carrying guns for self defense in 1997...to close to 400-600 million guns in private hands and over 19.4 million people carrying guns for self defense in 2019...guess what happened...

Yet ANOTHER shooting since Joe Biden took office.

The shooting has been classified as a "mass casualty" incident, according to police.

Indianapolis police said at least 8 people were shot and killed at a FedEx facility near the airport Thursday night and 'multiple' others have injuries.

The alleged shooter also died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department spokesperson Genae Cook said during an early morning news conference.

Odd that they aren't releasing his name---and the police don't know the motive yet----------

The formula for press coverage is this...

1) the longer it takes to release the photo and name, the more likely the shooter was a muslim, a minority, or a vocal democrat party member.

2) the longer it takes to release the weapon type, the more likely it isn't an AR-15 rifle.
