Occupy D.C.? Most Back Protests, Surtax - Matthew Cooper - NationalJournal.com

At a time when protests have erupted across the country over a growing inequality of wealth and Congress is considering measures to impose a surtax on those earning more than $1 million annually, the public seems to be in a populist mood—one that’s tempered by skepticism about Washington’s ability to do anything about the grim economy.

A new survey shows that Americans overwhelmingly support the self-styled Occupy Wall Street protests that not only have disrupted life in Lower Manhattan but also in Washington and cities and towns across the U.S. and in other nations. Some 59 percent of adults either completely agree or mostly agree with the protesters, while 31 percent mostly disagree or completely disagree; 10 percent of those surveyed didn’t know or refused to answer.

What’s more, many people are paying attention to the rallies. Almost two-thirds of respondents—65 percent—said they’ve heard “a lot” or “some” about the rallies, while 35 percent have said they’ve heard or seen “not too much” or “nothing at all” about the demonstrations.

So. We're actually getting somewhere, and it's not as bleak as the fringe element would have us believe.

Talk about spin...

Id be alittle worried if the Nazis, socialists, and communists agreed with me personally.

How many friggen threads do we need on this?

And WHO REALLY CARES?

I guess it is like free entertainment though.

Every thread I've seen has been on OWS, and most started by referring to the protesters as shitters.

I think you know what that means, Stephanie.

By the way. Did you read the article, or just swing past to shit in a thread.

My tangerines are ripening on the tree and the street shitters march on.

They are such miserable asswipes..

If the OWS were protesting the right people in DC like the politicians and Obama then I would agree... I still cant understand why anyone would support this now that the communist are behind them and the Nazi party.. Unless you are one of those two things.

Who doesn't support their right to assemble in protest...? :dunno:

Answering such a survey question in the affirmative does not necessarily mean the OWS' demands, or talking points, or whatever they call them, are "supported"...

No one that i know supports them. So i guess we are not part of the "most"

I certainly don't support breaking the law, or violence, or blocking traffic, or disrupting businesses, or stalking personal residences, or shitting in the streets...

I most certainly do. I just wish they'd protest the right people.... but of course, that's already been done... by the TEA Parties.... who, I might add, were accused of all kinds of crap by the left. Funny, isn't it. Protests they agree with (but don't actually know jack shit about) - good. Protests they disagree with - bunch of fucking old racists.

And they wonder why we laugh at them. Stupid people are funny.

I don't support the anti-authority taunting of police officers, I don't support anti-American sentiment, I don't support anarchy... I don't support $20 minimum wage... I don't support waiving student loans... What else?
