What kind of 'campfire stories' will modern era urbanization/globalization political paranoia generate?

This little vignette was inspired by the smuggling-intrigue films Ronin (Robert De Niro) and American Made (Tom Cruise).

A bunch of next-gen hippies decided to dress up as comic book paramilitary crusaders and pretend to be vigilantes on Halloween Eve in Moscow, chasing the Russian mafia around and investigating their ties to black-market chemical weapons sales to rogue terrorists and anti-Western underground groups planning to ally themselves to North Korea to assist in a potential WWIII. The hippies called themselves 'Ronin' (meaning they were displaced samurai looking for intriguing 'contracts'). Ronin discovered that the Russian mafia was indeed tied to ISIS which was working with a chemical weapons distribution operation managed by a European crime syndicate called Black Mask (secretly tied to North Korea!).

Ronin decided to prowl around on Halloween Eve in Moscow with megaphones saying on the streets that the Russian mafia was being targeted by North Korea in its nuclear campaign against 'Western corruption.' Passerby thought the Ronin were lunatics, but the members caught the attention of ISIS members wandering around Moscow that night and allied to the Russian mafia. The ISIS wondered what Ronin were doing prancing around with megaphones and assumed they were 'political idealists' but sensed they were potentially dangerous to their mission(s). One of the Ronin spotted an ISIS watching them, so he tackled him in an alley and forced him to disclose information regarding the chemical weapons sales.

Ronin then fed the information anonymously to the US Embassy in Russia and made a special 'investor-pretense' call to the CIA, claiming they heard 'strange rumors' of the Russian mafia working with ISIS in Moscow selling chemical weapons in the black market. The CIA soon dismantled Black Mask (the crime syndicate managing the chemical weapons market) and Ronin promptly returned to America, disbanded, and disappeared. Years later, when their grandchildren would ask, "Do you remember the time of the nuclear threat posed by North Korea," the members of Ronin would reply, "North Korea was not as nearly as vile as the mafia/syndicates profiting from war in the underground weapons-distribution circus!"
