Mormon media blitz?

They started doing this a year or two ago and they're good at it. Isn't it true though that blacks were not always welcome?

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has been trying to communicate it's message through the media since 1829. I don't foresee it stopping anytime in the near future.

And no it's not true that blacks were not always welcome.

So..... you want me to just take your word for it? :doubt: "you"?, Avatar4321? Blacks were not welcome well into the 20th cen :eusa_whistle:

Blacks were not welcomed in many places in the past. It is the present that matters to me and the Mormons are just fine with me. I lived among them for two years and never since or before have I met any finer people. And no, I am not Mormon. Nor am I affiliated with any church.

Same here but I don't vote Republican. I would consider it if i lived, say..... in Indiana. I'd vote for Sen. Lugar. One of the VERY FEW Repubs left in the party who is willing to work across party lines.

True. Not many Republicans are willing to "cross over party lines" especially if that party is socialism...

Everyone has always been welcome in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Until the 70's I believe they were denied the right to be members of the Priesthood.

Nope. Dont need to take my word for it at all. It's fact. Blacks were welcome in the Church from the beginning of the Church. We did not segregate. We didn't have a problem with them.

I realize that people generally inherit their religions for the most part. I was fortunate in that my family were practicing Atheists ;) However, Mormonism claims to be an offshoot of Chritianity WHICH explained the presence of black people as being a result of a punishment meted out by the man in the sky (?) in the story relating to Ham. Amiright?

No. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints does not claim to be an offshoot of Christianity. It claims to be a Restoration of Christianity.

Practicing athiests? In other words, youve never bothered learning anything about other religions. and you think you can lecture the rest of us?
