Well, the author of that article - and apparently some of you - don't know what he/they are talking about.

1) we have NO IDEA what Putin's goal in the war is yet.
If it was to conquer Ukraine (which seems HIGHLY unlikely given the forces he threw at them) - he has clearly failed.
But, if it was to distract the Ukrainian armed forced by making feint attacks against Kiev and other Eastern cities? While he secured the Donbas?
It has worked relatively well.

We will see.

But NONE of you (or that arrogant writer) knows what Putin's goal is.
And until we do - you cannot accurately say whether he has failed or not yet.

2) we have NO IDEA how many Russian tanks have been destroyed yet. All we have now are guesses from each country (which means little) and videos from biased, Ukrainian's phones.
Again, only when the war is over will the true numbers come out.

3) for the UMPTEENTH time!
It is not the end of tanks due to drones and ATGM's.
Obviously few/none of you have ever even HEARD of 'Trophy' or 'Arena'.

They are APS's (Active Protection Systems).
They destroy/damage incoming projectiles before they have a chance to hit/damage a tank.
They have been tested in combat (by Israel) and have proven extremely effective.

They have been around for a while and are slowly being fitted onto the MBT's of the major powers (as they are rather expensive).
Other than kinetic energy weapons (like shells from a gun) - they can take out just about any, other threat - including ATGM's (like Javelin or from drones), RPG's, 'suicide drones' and HEAT rounds.

And how effective is Russia's Arena APS?
Well, of all the destroyed, Russian tanks filmed in Ukraine?
Apparently, not ONE was equipped with Arena so far.
Which means either a) the Russian tanks in Ukraine are not equipped with Arena (highly unlikely).
Or b) Arena is working extremely well.

The bottom line is that ANYONE who says a) the Russians have failed because their goal was to conquer ALL of Ukraine?
And/or b) the MBT's days are numbered thanks to ATGM's (like Javelin or those launched from drones)?
Has, IMO, NO IDEA what they are talking about on this.

People have to stop getting their information from the MSM - ALL of the MSM.
They know shit about warfare or weapons or tactics.
They have shown that for their entire history.

When I was in school our American History teacher made us memorize the Declaration of Independence and copy the Constitution word for word by hand. We also spent substantial time on George Washingtons farewell Speech where he was very admant that we stay out of foreign wars, and especially to not go looking for enemies to vanquish. Sadly we have too many self serving politicians who think history will reward them for going to war, their own self importance gets in the way of simply making sure we have a solid and free country.

That said, we can't turn back the clock and if we are to be free ourselves, we have to stand by others who fight for their freedom.
