It's been 192 days since the House passed the $3 trillion HEROES Act, and 56 days since the House passed their compromise $2.2 trillion bill, both of which Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has refused to take up. McConnell sent his Republican Senate on Thanksgiving vacation last Thursday, after having spent the post-election week confirming unqualified Trump judges.

The one Trump administration official who at one point seemed to give a damn, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, has reverted to Republican form. He's sabotaging the economy right alongside his boss, cutting off emergency lending programs administered by Treasury and the Federal Reserve and trying to claw back uncommitted funds. To be an even bigger dick, Mnuchin is going to put the $455 billion he's clawing back into the General Fund, requiring future Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen to get congressional authorization to use it.

McConnell isn’t going to be able to sell hismy way or the highway compromise much longer.

Two months. The adults are on their way.

So far no downside found here.

This should have been done years ago. Does it really do anything but show an administration throwing a hissy fit? No, because the Federal Reserve will still do what it wants come January.

It doesn't count if you do something on your way out.

Give us a link to that one.

I cant find a link to $2 trillion

the highest I can find is $1 trillion

which makes me happy to have been wrong

we do not need to add $2 trillion to the national debt when all that is required is to open up the economy and end the lockdowns

The 1 trillion wasn't from Moscow Mitch. That was from Mnuchin and the House's last counter was 1.2 trillion. Just before the election the House and the Adminstration were very close to a behind doors agreement. Who wasn't present? The Senate. The Senate (meaning Moscow Mitch) has a big nasty stamp of NO and already had given a 500 mil that both other sides called as completely unreasonable so the House and the Admin didn't invite them to the negotiations at all. Then the Election and we no longer had an Administration or President to conduct day to day business with.

The Senate didn't take the latest because the Dem House loaded it with pork. If it had been a stand alone Chinese virus relief bill it would have been viewed and signed by the Senate and sent to Trump for signature.

I doubt if they even bothered to read it. Otherwise, it would have been sent to a committee whom would haven rewritten it, approved in in committee and sent the revised version back to the house. No, that never happened. Instead, a big read NO was stamped on it by Moscow Mitch the second it hit his desk and it went to the bottom of the "NO" file. But the Administration seems to have gotten more than 1.3 trillion trimmed from the original House bill before Baby Donnie went on his tantrum routine. I'll say it again, Baby Donnie wasn't the worst single person in DC, that prize goes, hands down, to Moscow Mitch. Stop making excuses for Moscow Mitch being the REAL Dictator in Washington. Baby Donny should take lessons from him.

If it wasn't loaded with pork it would have been signed and sent to Trump. Since it was loaded with pork the Senate sent it back. Don't need a committee for that.

Yes you do need a committee to do that. That's the way it has worked for over 200 years and it's worked pretty damned well. It's only bee for the last 12 to 14 years that the system in DC has gotten so broken that it's no longer able to function.

No more stimulus.

Open the businesses back up.

Democrats have destroyed enough jobs.

With the rise in Covid 19 deaths, we should just open it all up, right? And wait for herd immunity, right? At what point are you going to change your mind? Is it when we exceed the total death count in 18 months that it took us 4 years to reach for WWII? Or are you going for a record to exceed the Civil War Dead.

No you don't need a committee to send a bill back. If it weren't loaded with Dem pork the Senate would have approved it and sent it to Trump.

The Senate won't waste its time with a committee. Take the Dem pork out and the bill would be signed already.

The "Heroes Act" is jammed full of pork to bail out Libnut Cities and states for their years of fiscal mismanagement. It needs to be shitcanned.

Gotta laugh. If Pelousy and her Dems were worried about the tax payers they never would have loaded a stand alone Chinese virus relief bill with pork.

Guess we can all see what she thinks of the American tax payer.
