Mitt Romney Calls on NATO to Prepare for Nuclear Strike from Russia

Ohio’s don’t radiate noise. The SSNs are going to be killing the Russian and Chinese subs. The only way an Ohio would use active sonar, let alone fire a torpedo was if it was actually under attack. That’s pretty unlikely since Ohio’s are so quiet that the noise they generate is actually lower than the ambient noise of the ocean. I read a novel where a US SSN located a rogue Ohio by looking where there was no ambient ocean noise. But even in a novel that only worked at very short range. If I remember the plot correctly the SSN and the Ohio killed each other. Flamethrower duel in a closet style.
The Sum of all Fears? Nice novel, but it is thirty years old (and even back in 1991 it was a bit obsolete). What is more important it describes the 'The Field of Camlan' scenario (escalation without proper preparations) rather than 'Pearl Harbor' scenario with well prepared and well calculated predictable, but not predicted (because incompetence and wishful thinking of intelligence servicemen and decision-makers) counter-force attack.

Really? Do you know, that, say, blue whales can hear each other at the distance more than 500 miles? A bomb's burst is much more louder and underwater microphones are much more sensitive.
Such a system will not be able to detect a submarine that is far away from it.

And all of our Ohio submarines will be very far away.

The US is prepared for a massive counterforce attack from Russia.

If Russia launches such an attack at us, Russia will receive a counterforce attack from us.

And we will have enough left over to destroy Russia's 300 largest cities, so we'll also be able to respond in kind if Russia attacks any NATO cities.

Why, He is just being a good, TRUE conservative! A true Republican! You know, Skye, just like the Bushes and the Cheneys! Part of that ELITE crowd of true blue Republicans whom never accepted Trump cause Donald really wasn't part of their ILK. The same ilk that wants to suck the teat of the democrat party and spend money and go to wars, and needs to make a VILLAIN of Putin in order to create the SCAPEGOAT that the Western Alliance of Climate Changers need to blame everything on as the world goes to ROT due to their policies because they put climate ahead of PEOPLE.
They need to keep you distracted with Russia Russia Russia believing that they are responsible for everything going to shit while they consolidate their power over global energy and policy.
Russia is seen as a villain because Russia is committing atrocities.

Don't commit atrocities if you don't want decent people to see you as a villain.

Ohios have gotten quieter over the years and Russian electronics haven't kept pace with state of the art.

Russia has been acting like a villain ever since Putin came to power. For a short time after the fall of the communists, Russia had a chance to join the family of nations. Instead, it allowed a coterie of ex-KGB agents like Putin and criminals to seize power and loot the nation turning it into something worse than the old USSR.

They may be are quite, but they can't not reflect sounds. They are still bubbles of air in the water. Also, they've become less numerous and, say, right now, we have no Ohios in the Northern Atlantic at the hard duty. One is going to its station, another - is returning to her base, and one SSBN 740 USS Rhode Island is visiting our so called partners at HMNB Clyde. Their missiles also becomes older and lesser reliable. That's why, in June, USS Kentucky wasn't able to launch four old Tridents in one salvo (as it was preplanned) but only one old Trident at June 15, and later, June 17, three new ones.

I’d sure like some of what you are smoking. There were no multiple missile launches scheduled. Trident D5LEs are current production and very reliable. Unlike in Russia and China, US missile launches are publicized. There are no reasons for multiple launches from a mature platform like an Ohio.
Another fault in your post is that Ohio’s carrying a Trident D5s never deployed in the North Atlantic. They have the range to hit any target in Russia from the Southern Hemisphere. The last US missile needing to be launched from the North Atlantic was the
Posideon C3 of the early seventies .

They can not-reflect sounds if they are a great distance from those sounds.

And they are a very great distance from any potential Russian noisemaking.

There will be four total on high alert for a counterforce strike against Russia, but I do not know how the four are distributed throughout the oceans.

All four will be able to strike their assigned targets in Russia.

The missiles are completely reliable.

Silvercat thinks the US is like Russia. Building weapons it can’t maintain.

Who in his right mind, I thought, could call himself a dick-head? That's what your stage name seemed to imply to me. I can be excused for thinking that, I hope, for Americans are such a qwier bunch these days that being called a faggot they sometimes except as a badge of honor. Nonetheless I looked it up and found out that figuratively "open bolt" may mean something of a "trigger happy", right? Am I the only one, I wonder, whose first impression of you was dick related?

Russia attacked a peaceful neighbor several times, both directly and through proxies. Decent people don’t do that.
Came upon a "Star Gate" episode yesterday and remembered that America is always decent. Too bad it's in the movies and fairy tales though.

Warmonger Pierre Delecto has lost his mind.

Mitt Romney Calls on NATO to Prepare for Nuclear Strike from Russia

Well it wouldn't be the west's fault at least. This is all on crazy man putin. The world was about to end anyway. So what if humans push the date ahead a little. They always thought it was their planet to do whatever they wanted to do to it. Our distant neighbors and friends have collected all the biological samples ( less the human race ) they need to terraform the planet once humans destroy themselves.

You may start with reading internet. Marvelous thing, you know.

There were no multiple missile launches scheduled.
Are you banned by Google? It's not even a classified info, that can be found in few minutes.
--------------
The United States Navy launched an unarmed life-extended Trident II D5 missile (D5LE), pictured, from the Ohio-class ballistic missile submarine (SSBN) USS Kentucky (SSBN-737) off the coast of southern California on June 17, 2022.

The test launch was one of four conducted June 15 and 17 as part of a U.S. Navy Commander Evaluation Test (CET), validating performance expectations of the Trident II D5LE strategic weapon system.

The U.S. Navy conducts CETs and other missile flight tests to evaluate and ensure the system’s continued reliability, readiness and accuracy. The tests are not conducted in response to specific events. A credible, effective nuclear deterrent is essential to U.S. national security and the security of U.S. allies.

Four missiles, only one of them life-extended.

Of course, there is a reason for multiple launch - to be ready for a counterforce strike. To be able to launch all missiles in one 3-min salvo and hit enemies' ICBMs before they launched. The problem is that Ohio never launched all her missiles in one salvo.

Another fault in your post is that Ohio’s carrying a Trident D5s never deployed in the North Atlantic.

Of course they are deployed.

They have the range to hit any target in Russia from the Southern Hemisphere. The last US missile needing to be launched from the North Atlantic was the
Posideon C3 of the early seventies .
The range of Trident II with the minimal payload and launched at equator directly eastward is a bit more than 7,500 mi.
Time is another problem. More miles between a submarine and her targets - more vitally necessary minutes they have to shelter and/or attack. And, therefore, every minute means thousands of survived Russians and millions of killed Americans.

The artillery that we sent to Ukraine is effective. Especially when the Ukranians know the landscape very well.

I found a video detailing how artillery works and thought that I would post it for information purposes.

What isn't explained is that these artillery pieces can fire even longer distances than explained and can fire off not just explosive rounds of HE....but also chemical, biological, and nuclear weapons. No need for a rocket when rocket assisted shells are much much cheaper and can obliterate Russia from Finland and Sweden much faster and more devastatingly than a 20 minute rocket flight.

Actually, Russia has been 'acting like a villain' since the first Chechen war. What is even more important, the Russians elected Putin because of NATO aggression against Serbia. And later the second Chechen war and NATO expansion convinced them of the correctness of the choice made.
The Russians felt pretty clear, that being a member of the 'family of nations' means to be robbered, discriminated and genocided. So, they prefer to fight back.

No...
That's the current propaganda put out by the Russian Government. Completely opposite of the previous thoughts that Russia had up to the last year or so of George Bush's presidency. Obama did nothing to mend fences either....because up to that time Russia was actively seeking to join NATO. They were a strategic partner in alliance with the West. It's the reason for McDonald's and all those European stores that are now closed in Russian malls that are also now empty of people.

America isn’t always decent, but it’s the best, or nicest, if you prefer superpower this planet has ever seen. Compare how the US behaved after WWII to how Russia behaved. The US built up its former enemies, allowed them independent governments and foreign policies and left neutrals alone. Russia treated its former enemies as colonies raping their economies and reinvaded them when their internal or foreign policies failed to please it. China is already acting like a conquerer to neutrals, countries that foolishly fall under its economic sway and even its own population. My country has its warts, but generally it does good for people. I’ll take a flawed democracy over a kleptocracy or tyranny any day.
