Me, on finding out that Obama won...

I think this film does a bit to humanize Romney.

But Romney's problem was that he dehumanized himself in the campaign.

All of the most serious injuries on Mitt Romney in 2012 were self-inflicted.

He was just trying his best to win for his party.

He lost ... it happens.

Actually seems like a nice guy, but I cannot understand the poor sportsmanship by some right-wingers claiming election fraud, etc.

Time to let it go already.

No, Mitt Romney is not a nice guy.

Mitt Romney was a guy who went in, looted companies, made a lot of money for his investors and left a lot of working guys out of work.

And frankly, whether it be the "I like to fire people" comment or the "Etch-a-sketch" comment or the "the 47% are moochers" comment, the guy just couldn't hide how much of a douchebag he really was.

But the comment that was most damning was the one where he thought it was just wonderful that there were these factories in China where women lived 10 to a dorm, 120 sharing a bathroom, working for a pittance to make people like him more money. I wish THAT had gotten more play.

Seriously, screw Mitt Romney and his Magic Underwear.

Oh like I'm suddenly going to feel sorry for this selfish prick?

Fuck him.

It's not about that.

There's value in seeing the mindset and the process of Presidential candidates.

Romney made a stunning pivot from the primaries to the general. He was telling his base one thing and the nation something entirely different. And what he was saying was contradictory.

Understanding how the process works today might help to formulate a better way of doing things tomorrow.

For example, Republicans are talking about locking down primary debates. Yet they were very useful to the press and public.

The Democrats painted the Republicans as only interested in the wealthy

Republicans could do nothing to disprove that

America is a BAD judge of talent.

We could have hired a WORLD CLASS BUSINESSMAN to get our affairs in order and put US back on the right track.

Instead, we hired a World Class Liar & Con Man who is working (maybe for an alien entity) to snatch the people's power and make US subjects.

Grow up.

EDIT: If you worked in H.R. and hired Obama instead of Romney you (AND Barry) would have been fired from ANY successful organization in the country except those who prioritize affirmative action hiring.

I guess they thought you guys were able to use the internet to find out the facts.

Instead you just laid there and allowed the liberal MSM to shovel shit into your brains. In my estimation Romney, to his credit, never imagined he was dealing with such a slothful, persistently ignorant group of voters.

No one thought the American voters were THAT mentally afflicted.

I guess Romney should have taken a cue from H.L. Mencken who reportedly said:

Democracy is a pathetic belief in the collective wisdom of individual ignorance. No one in this world, so far as I know—and I have researched the records for years, and employed agents to help me—has ever lost money by underestimating the intelligence of the great masses of the plain people. Nor has anyone ever lost public office thereby.

'Notes On Journalism' in the Chicago Tribune (19 September 1926)

Often misquoted as "No one ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American people."

(The Yale Book of Quotations, 2006, p. 512)

It is [a politician's] business to get and hold his job at all costs. If he can hold it by lying, he will hold it by lying; if lying peters out, he will try to hold it by embracing new truths. His ear is ever close to the ground.

Notes on Democracy (1926), Part II, p. 99

There!

Now go away and take your perverse pride in your sorry condition to a Socialist or Muslim or Third World forum where they admire such decrepitude.

You and your ilk got the Obama government you deserve.

Anyone who is trusted with great responsibility in business or government has to make decisions that can adversely affect the lives and fortunes of others.

When acclaimed Gen. David Petraeus lost men and some of his forces under his command in Iraq and Afghanistan committed some offenses which violated the UCMJ or rules of engagement or when he had to order assaults where innocents were likely to die or be injured, he was not morally criticized for those acts because his job was to do what was best for the greater good.

In Romney's chosen business his job was to save the companies that could be saved. Close or sell or consolidate the others. He did his job. It may have been a dirty job, just as Gen. Petraeus' job was a dirty job, but he did it and he did it well.

His bisses were thrilled. His clients were thrilled. His associates were thrilled.

He did EVERYTHING he did well.

He was a business superstar.

Singling out Romney for doing his job (SUPERBLY, I might add) is a stupid criticism and one which the GOP could have and should have brushed away like crumbs on their sleeves.

He was better at every one of HIS jobs than Obama has ever been at ANY job he's ever had.

Well, an exception can be made for the jobs Barry held which required him to do things that tear down our nation and our way of life and our freedoms and which overloaded our entitlement system and increased the government taxes on the people.

You Obamabots FAIL.

We could have hired a superstar like Mitt.

Instead we got a Super Disloyal Manipulating Incompetent who lies to us and steals from us and costs us more money and seeks to enslave us.

This is the low ebb of the American Presidency and maybe all of America's history.

OF COURSE Mitt is a nice guy!

Just imagine how little Obama would have done in a similar situation as in the case cited below, or wonder if he'd have done anything at all in a similar circumstance as Mitt did in this instance.

Mitt Romney assisted in the search for his business partner's missing daughter

Sometimes, this facet of Romney's personality isn't so subtle. In July 1996, the 14-year-old daughter of Robert Gay, a partner at Bain Capital, had disappeared. She had attended a rave party in New York City and gotten high on ecstasy.

Three days later, her distraught father had no idea where she was. Romney took immediate action. He closed down the entire firm and asked all 30 partners and employees to fly to New York to help find Gay's daughter. Romney set up a command center at the LaGuardia Marriott and hired a private detective firm to assist with the search. He established a toll-free number for tips, coordinating the effort with the NYPD, and went through his Rolodex and called everyone Bain did business with in New York, and asked them to help find his friend's missing daughter. Romney's accountants at Price Waterhouse Cooper put up posters on street poles, while cashiers at a pharmacy owned by Bain put fliers in the bag of every shopper. Romney and the other Bain employees scoured every part of New York and talked with everyone they could — prostitutes, drug addicts — anyone.

That day, their hunt made the evening news, which featured photos of the girl and the Bain employees searching for her. As a result, a teenage boy phoned in, asked if there was a reward, and then hung up abruptly. The NYPD traced the call to a home in New Jersey, where they found the girl in the basement, shivering and experiencing withdrawal symptoms from a massive ecstasy dose. Doctors later said the girl might not have survived another day. Romney’s former partner credits Mitt Romney with saving his daughter's life, saying, "It was the most amazing thing, and I’ll never forget this to the day I die."

So, here's my epiphany: Mitt Romney simply can't help himself. He sees a problem, and his mind immediately sets to work solving it, sometimes consciously, and sometimes not-so-consciously. He doesn't do it for self-aggrandizement, or for personal gain. He does it because that's just how he's wired.

Unless there was a press camera nearby for him to hog credit for doing something, one can well imagine Obama doing in this kind of case EXACTLY what he did during the rescue of Ambassador Stevens and his fellow beseiged Americans in Benghazi...

NOTHING!

It would depend on what job was being applied for.

Of course, if the job of a politician is to win elections, Obama's record is 13-1 (2 for president, 1 for senate, 10 for state legislature, vs. 1 Loss for Congress.) vs. Romney's 1-3 record. (once for Gov, vs. 1 for senate and 2 for President.)

What on earth are you talking about 13 to 1?

Obama ran only 3 times for his Senate position in Illinois. 1 for the US Senate. 2 for President.

6 wins 1 loss. I'm not disputing that he's got a great record of winning, but let's keep truth in history.

Mitt Romney was born with a silver spoon and assured place in society. Barack Obama was born poor, had a dark skin, and a name that was definately foreign. Through hard work in school, he attained a success that was exceptional even before entering politics.

The contrast could not have been greater for a great many of us that knows what it means to be born on the wrong side of the tracks.
