Today is the memorial service for the 2 slain officers. It's being held in down town Miami at the American Airlines Arena.
I had a job on Fisher Island today and it took just over 2 hours to reach the Port of Miami from Fort Lauderdale, just 25 miles to the north. I'd guess there are 5,000 police cruisers and motors parked in every conceivable open spot down town. The radio says there are 9,000 police officers in the Arena for the service.

Rest in peace, and thank you, Officer Roger Castillo and Officer Amanda Haworth.
