U.S. Representative Mia Love hits bedrock with this one.

In the old Deep South, slavery was when people were forced to work for people they didn't want to, forced to give up the freedom to choose how they would support themselves, forced to give up the products of their labor to other who didn't compensate them for them, and threatened with captivity, oppression, jail time, and worse, if they didn't obey.

That's actually a pretty good description of what modern Democrats are imposing on the rest of us today. Want to work for someone for a low wage so you can gain experience and a good recommendation? Sorry, you can't - there's a law against it. Want to build a simple house? Sorry, you can't - there are LOTS of laws against it. Want to choose a simple, bare-bones, low-cost medical insurance program? Sorry, you can't - there's a law against it. You MUST pay higher prices than you ever have, for less coverage. And if you don't like it, tough - the government will penalize you.

Today, "Liberalism" is a laughably misnamed agenda. It has nothing to do with liberty, and everything to do with people controlling you whom you never asked for.

The old-time southern slaveowners could whip or kill their slaves if they wanted to. Today's liberals can't do that to their subjects who disobey them. Yet. They can only imprison them, fine them, harass then endlessly.

That's about the only real difference between today's liberals and the southern slaveowners.

Mia Love points this out in no uncertain terms.

What was wrong, immoral, and abusive in the 1800s, is wrong, immoral and abusive today.

And claiming it's "for the children" or "for your own good" doesn't change it.

Rep. Mia Love Decries New 'Slavery' Of 'Being Dependent On People In Power' At RNC Black Outreach Event

Posted Thursday, February 12th 2015 @ 12pm by J. Arthur Bloom

At a Republican National Committee event at Washington DC’s Howard Theater Wednesday afternoon, rising conservative star Rep. Mia Love (R-UT) exhorted the audience to “remove ourselves from a different kind of slavery, the slavery that comes from being dependent on people in power.”

RNC chairman Reince Priebus showcased the party’s ongoing commitment to outreach to the black community, before presenting awards to Love, Rep. Will Hurd (R-TX) and Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC), who were all elected this November.

The other two recipients took a less dramatic tone. Sen. Scott focused on education and told a story about his grandfather, who couldn’t read, bringing a newspaper to the dinner table and pretending to read it.

It's a good perspective, that applies to legislators from both parties.

But we won't swinging to far right reactionary nonsense, which is a proven failure, any more than we can to far left liberalism, a proven failure also.

We will have to work it out in the middle, as always.

BRAVO!!! Finally someone speaks the truth now will they listen to a black WOMAN Republican?

doubtful. we'll be hearing how she's an Aunt Jemima, Aunt tommy cetia, etc

wait for it

they already refer to the one new woman Republican as the, pig castrator.

time for women to wake up and see what party REALLY has a war going on women in this country. and it's not Republicans

Hmmm By November 2016, Ms. Love will have as much experience in Congress as barack obama did when he was elected.

Just for shits and giggles, I'd love to see a race between her and shillary clinton.
Libs would have a bitch of a time figuring out who to vote for.

oh yeah, I would like that one too. then the country can see who the real racist, sexist, women haters really are...

Rest assured the liberals are warming up in the bull pen to crucify her. Black and female, she must go down hard.

Oh I'm sure. they waited about a week before they came after Joni Ernst. they are just so nasty predictable. It is they who is TEARING this country apart. the sooner the people realize it the BETTER

Mia Love will reject you hard right sexist and racist clowns if you don't clean up your act.

She is real, she is moral, and she doesn't play your pussy games.

Clean your act up.

Democrats are 'imposing' that? Did they deny you a vote on these matters?

Mia is going to prove the far right as stupid as the far left. She would not give little acorn the time of day on his non-economic nonsense.
