The only way to ‘protect’ kids is to preempt and ban content on social media through authoritarian government excess and overreach at the expense of a free press.

No one is saying nothing should be done; certainly solutions need to be explored to address the problem – but government interference isn’t a viable solution.

It doesnt need banning. It could be restricted to an age appropriate level.
All they do currently is ask if you are 18. Its laughable.
But if you had to pay a nominal fee by credit card then that would go someway to exclude kids.
The money raised could pay for mods to monitor this shit.

His judgement today lays much of the blame at the door of social media for failing to protect vulneable youngsters.
Not only did instagram not do this they actively promoted harmful material to Molly.

From a group of people that actively encourages bullying, it is.

Although it has nothing to do with right/left politics in the traditional sense, with the neo-fascist movement it's different.

And of course, they also think it's super-cool if some kid who is bullied finds a gun and goes and kills other kids. Would they even care if they killed their own kid? Actually, I'm not even sure neo-fascists outside the US would have the same opinion.
