It's a matter of principle, really. He wants to get all the socialists on record rather than having just a voice vote. And, boy, do they not like that. Not at all. They do not like having to play by the voting rules. Heh heh.

It's just a massive socialist debt bubble, someone has to hold em to the fire. It's kind of humorous that they'd try to say the only guy who is playing by the actual rules is going rogue.

“It’s the Thomas Massie show,” said one senior Republican source who asked to not be identified.

Anyway...

What he should be grateful for is that he is in a safely red district in KY. And if he goes on the record as voting against this, he might want to be prepared for the possibility that this will backfire on him.

I should have put this in the Congress section, now that I think on it. Massie is no doubt the best representative in Congress and they hate true fiscal conservatives more than anything.

He does seem to be one of the last true fiscal conservatives. He voted against the 4 trillion dollar spending bill at the end of 2019 as well.

Good, good for him and off to hell with the rest of them

:yes_text12: Nancy is pissed! She wants House members who are still on their two week vacay from DC to be able to virtually vote rather than vote in person.

Massie is being a funny guy (libs won't understand humor)

Top Democrats and Republicans have indicated they’d prefer a voice vote because it would not require as many members to return to the Capitol, and would speed a vote along.

However, after the voice vote, any member simply may call for “a recorded vote.” That automatically would trigger the roll call.

pay attention people!!

omg....

Hopefully he prevails.
This massive corporate and special interest giveaway is a national embarrassment, and a testimony to just how utterly corrupt Washington is.
And they knew the only way to get away with it is to include bribery payments to all Americans.

With regard to the largest spending bill in the history of mankind....

"Mr. Speaker, I came here to make sure our republic doesn't die by unanimous consent in empty chamber, and I request a recorded vote." -- Thomas Massie.

Good form, Thomas. Good form...

Socialists gonna socialize. But we already knew that. Of course, they didn't want their votes recorded and their names attached for history to remember. Which they weren't. And then they cheered for themselves afterward. Is what it is.

Excellent!

It's a stupid gesture which will fail. The only thing it will achieve is putting more people at risk.

Pelosi already has corona 4.0 legislation written and ready to go.

And had Massie not made a stand today against corona 3.0 and the duopoly she'd have them all stay home for the corona 4.0 vote and push it through uncontested just like they tried with 3.0.

But guess what. Now that she knows someone by the name of Thomas Massie is gonna stand up and make em come to work and demand they go on record with their votes instead of cowering behind a bullshit excuse like cowardly thugs, they're going to be extremely reluctant to put out that corona 4.0 with even more waste in it.

You shouldn't open your mouth about things you know nothing about. Eventually your idiot box will get around to telling you what to say and how to think when that time comes. Until then, listen to people who know what they're talking about. You have absolutely no idea whatsoever why Massie chose the route he took. This is a long-term affair. They're gonna keep taking and taking and taking until there's nothing left to take. They want everything shut down. This was a warning for when that next time comes around. And like I said, they have 4.0 written and ready to roll.
