Mass shootings. The in's and out's

Mass shootings have become the sounding board of the Left on the need to end the right to own fire arms.

But do they really care about the loss of life or is it something else about gun rights they don't like that is at the root of their rantings? After all, alcohol kills about 3 million every year and not a peep on legislation to control that.

Here are the facts.

There were reported 45,222 deaths caused by guns in 2020. The number of gun deaths in America hit an all-time high in 2020, owing mostly to an increase in homicides, according to new data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

However, the vast number of gun deaths are caused by suicide.

The U.S. Department of Justice reports that about 60% of all adult firearm deaths are by suicide, 61% more than deaths by homicide

But the Left is in love with euthanasia., just like they are in love with abortion that has murdered over 50 million innocent unborn babies, so what gives? Most of them probably have no idea that the majority of gun deaths are from suicide.

The DNC continues to blame White Supremacy as the major cause of gun violence as we recently heard Joe Biden say. How then do they explain this fact?

As in years past, people of color bore the brunt of American gun violence: 42 percent of firearm homicide victims in 2020 were Black males between the ages of 15 and 34, a group that accounts for only 2 percent of the population. Gun homicides of Black women jumped 51 percent in 2020 compared to 2019. In fact, cities like Chicago get lit up every day with gun fire and barely a word from the press in acknowledgment.

The article then goes on to say "it’s almost a truism: More firearms equals more violence,” said Wintemute, who researched this link in the early months of the pandemic".

However, gun ownership among adults who live in rural areas were 46% compared with 28% of adults who live in the suburbs and even fewer – 19% – in urban areas, according to a new Pew Research Center survey. Why then is the majority of gun violence in the major cities?

And of the mass shootings that grab the attention of the public and is the catalyst for the move to ban guns, The 68 people killed in mass shootings this year make up a fraction of a percent of the 12,509 people killed by guns in 2018.

In fact, school shootings are the major sounding board for gun control.

But what is causing school shootings? It is nothing more than copy-cats wanting attention, and yes, this is all driven by the media. The media is the major cause of this.

Bingo fucker, bingo! Nailed it.

That's right. Republicans don't care about children at all. They are just sociopathic demons from hell that want to see innocent children die. That's Ok, because democrats are worse, they would rather murder babies who are far more innocent and vulnerable.

But in reality, most everyone does and should care about children because we all agree that they have great value and need our protection. Also, Republican have a great deal to say about the issue regarding safety for children in schools such as arming teachers in schools, etc.. Something the Left adamantly resists, but you would rather lie about not having any solutions like the left lies about everything else.

As for prayers, you say this to mock conservative people of faith, but in reality, school shootings started years after prayer was taken out of schools and replaced with CRT and the gender crap and Leftism even though there were far fewer gun restrictions back then. Why is that do you think?
Nonsense

Republicans care more about "protecting gun rights" than about the lives of school kids...obviously

Because that is where the majority of people are. Duh.

Also, for the same reason we have an opioid crisis. The manufacturers of opioids and guns are flooding the streets with more drugs and guns than there is a legitimate demand for.

Duh.

And yet there are fewer guns per person in urban areas

The fact is that the areas of ultra high murders that are responsible for skewing the numbers of the entire country are extremely small and well defined neighborhoods.

We all know where the most murders take place and no one really cares about it because most murders are young urban male minorities killing other young urban male minorities.

it has nothing to do with population density because a neighborhood with a murder rate 5 or more times the national rate can be just a few blocks away from a neighborhood with a murder rate of near zero

Nonsense

Republicans care more about "protecting gun rights" than about the lives of school kids...obviously
The governor of Texas proved that last week without a doubt. The apathy towards the children that he pretends to protect is amazing. That man has no conscience and I am sure that hes a demon from hell.

Nope. Stop pulling bullshit out of your ass. You're stinking up the board.

As for legislation, you can't buy alcohol until you are 21, but you can buy an AR-15 on your 18th birthday.

An estimated 95,000 people (approximately 68,000 men and 27,000 women) die from alcohol-related causes annually, making alcohol the third-leading preventable cause of death in the United States.

Assault rifles are just scary looking to libtard snowflakes like you.

Assault Rifles

Since 8/20/1982 there have been 22 mass shootings involving “assault rifles,” resulting in 285 deaths. 41% of those incidents occurred in 2015 (5) and 2016 (4). Five of those nine incidents involved targeted acts of terrorism or targeting police officers following Black Lives Matter protests. 94 of the 285 deaths occurred in those nine incidents, with 76 of them associated to the five targeted terrorist or police officer events.

The NRA, in 2013, estimated there were about five million AR-15’s owned by Americans. Politifact.com estimates that there are between six million and ten million AR-15 style “assault rifles” in America. Using the low estimate from Politifact.com, that means that only 1 in every 272,727 “assault rifles” was used in a mass shooting by only 23 people.
The chance of being killed in a mass shooting with an “assault rifle” is 1 in 1,122,807, the equivalent of someone randomly shooting into San Jose, CA and killing one specific person.

And if the school took the same effort to protect the children, like having defensive weapons, then there would no longer be any school shootings.
Schools are easy pickings.
Didn't use to be that way.
When I was in my senior year at HS, 2 died in knife fights ( probably watched too much "West Side Story"), and the PTA demanded at least 2 armed teachers at all times after that.
The number of student and staff violent deaths per year over 20 years ending in 2019 runs from a low of 37 to a high of about 62 per year. This includes all public and private schools grades k-12. The number of schools is approximately 130,000. So doing the math assuming 62 violet deaths a year at school that means that there is one death in every 4062 schools a year. There is only 1 chance in 70 that a teacher or principal will have a violent death in their school during their 30 year career in education and the chance of that event being a mass killing is extremely unlikely. With this in mind, I don't see how schools can prepare for a mass killing other than lockdowns.

According to your graph, Kalifornia ranks 48th, and yet has the second most gun deaths in the USA.
Nope, California has one of the lowest firearm mortality rates in the country, 8.5 deaths per 100,000, number 44th in the nation.

The state with highest firearm mortality rate is Mississippi at 28.6 deaths per 100,000, followed by Louisiana, Wyoming, Missouri, Alabama, Alaska, New Mexico, Arkansas, South Carolina, Tennessee, Montana, Oklahoma, West Virginian, Georgia, and Idaho. 14 of the 15 highest firearm mortality states are red states. Not surprising, 10 of these 15 states with highest firearm mortality rate also have the most liberal gun laws. The conclusion is inescapable, making guns easily available means a higher firearm mortality rate, that is more guns more deaths.
