Mass Shooting in Boise....Madness.

Get a Gun and get it fast,
Thinking people who don't plan to let ANYONE put a boot on their neck, ALREADY have their guns. As for you and those like you...GFY and leave law-abiding citizens alone.

And as an aside - THIS is the real story out of Boise:
“I want to thank the shopkeepers, the people in the mall that reacted so quickly to take care of folks that were there,” McLean said. “You showed in a tough and chaotic moment how much you care and what you’re willing to do to support and care for strangers.”

Our system gives China FULL access to get in and destroy us from within.
Their system blocks anything and everything that could expose it's evil.

Excellent point, and the giant elephant in the room when it comes to national security versus pandering to corps who want zillions of foreign workers on green cards they can abuse.

This fails as a false dilemma fallacy.

Citizens have the right to carry firearms pursuant to lawful self-defense, not to act in the capacity of law enforcement or neutralize an active shooter.
You're wrong and it's amazing that the reason I asked the question is in the first part of your second paragraph - 'self-defense". I didn't say anything about playing cop or attempting to neutralize an active shooter as if those are the only two reasons for wishing one had a firearm if they suddenly found themselves in a situation such as this.

You're the one who came up with only two options, while I went straight to self-defense, nothing more.

Idaho has had two mass shootings in five months. The latest happened here, and it has taken two lives from us.

America has faced a rising tide of gun violence and mass shootings. Even the COVID-19 pandemic, which brought life to a halt, did not stop the rise.

Until last year, Idaho was one of the few states in the nation that had not had a modern mass shooting, at least according to most sources. So it was easy to think that it couldn’t happen here, that we were somehow immune from what was happening so often all around us.
We were never immune. We were only lucky.

This year, that luck did not hold.

Three were injured at the mass shooting at Rigby Middle School in May. Another student at the same middle school was arrested with a gun in September. Now, according to current reports, four people, including a police officer, have been wounded in the mass shooting at the Boise Towne Square Mall. Two others died.
Whether or not these incidents met the technical definition of a mass shooting, they certainly felt like mass shootings. Do we need to wait for an incident that does meet the definition before we act?

The victims today are not only those who were murdered and wounded.
There are dozens of people who huddled, terrified, in stores, hoping the shooter wouldn’t find them.
And all of their friends and relatives, wondering whether the text messages they were receiving now would be the last they would hear from their loved ones.

We always thought we were safe in Idaho, that something like that couldn’t happen here. Monday’s shooting at Boise Towne Square shattered our illusions of safety, that we were somehow immune to problems that happen only in “those other places.” But really, it was only a matter of time. With gun violence and mass shootings in our country at crisis levels, it was bound to happen here at some point. This was just our turn.
Tonight is for mourning.

Tomorrow, we need to figure out what to do about this. We cannot allow this to keep happening.

A mass shooting requires 4 dead or if you support Obama 3. this was not a mass shooting.

Intoxicated driving hasn’t been illegal?

No limits put in cigarettes? Purchase of alcohol?
Missing the point. Where is the social outcry for all the deaths related to drugs, alcohol and tobacco? No politician, MSM outlet, social influencer/site, even on here, is demanding that we try and stop these deaths. Why the focus on guns if all other deaths out weigh gun deaths 16/1?

To be considered a mass shooting, the incident must:

  • Occur in a single location that is a considered public place
  • Take the lives of at least three people (the perpetrator’s own life not included)
  • Be carried out by a lone shooter (except in rare occasions)

What about of the people who are born into poverty? What choices did they make to end up where they have?
I was born into poverty--- and worked my way out. In america (well when america was america) you could work your way out of poverty. That was the whole point of coming or being in america---hard work, some skill, some ideal and viola everyone could become rich if they applied themselves. Turn 18, join the military--see the world, used the military benefits and up you go... Work hard, work overtime, save, and viola you to move up in world. Have a dream one night about the perfect invention, seek a patent, build and sell your ideal and viola super rich....

Now the government wants you to not succeed like all communist/marxist nations do.

Don't know, don't care.

If you're going to blame the movies...fine. But please tell us why the US is the only nation on earth that has these routine mass shootings?
You meanie the ones where No NRA member was any part of.
The ones where a Corrupt MSM rushes faster than Mad Hatters to
level all kinds of felonious guilt onto Legal Gun owners and overall
gun ownership.
What part of these mass shootings are done via sick, mentally deficient
persons. The answer ... pratically every single one.
Whose to say it wasn't choreographed via techniques like MK-Ultra
in order to hypnotize a victim and then carry out whatever style mind control
act to make headlines. It's the easiest and most profound way to make headliines,
virtually Stop in it's track ALL other Breaking news.

It has nothing to do with movies. It’s rampant liberalism. Destroying the family unit causes kids to grow up defective, and mentally unstable, and leads to crime and violence. Just look at the black community, highest single motherhood rates and highest crime rates. And that all only started after blacks embraced Democrats in the 1920’s.
Only partially correct.Blacks helped elect Eisenhower.Blacks like MLK
in the 50's voted mostly Republican. They also acted different.Much different than
today. Most Blacks in the 50's wouldn't be seen in pubic w/o dressing in their sunday
best. They acted polite and behaved in like fashion.
Todays Blacks know they can virtually get away with many defiant acts of
troublemaking. As if BLM isn't proof in the pudding.
Maxine Waters as prime example.BTW ... I am not in the slighest a Racist.
I had 2 hero's in High school.Marlon Brando and Bill Cosby.
Cosby had a popular TV series - The Bill Cosby Show - { 1969-1971 }
As a High school Gym teacher from California.Chet Kincaid was popular
among the student body for his open door policy of helping any student with
problems { mostly personal in nature }. He used common sense and his brand
of humor to get kids to understand how to cope.He was very observant and
his efforts usually worked like a charm. As a stand-up comic he refused to
lower his standards by cussing on stage.Like the wildly popular Richard Pryor
who popularized the abuse of the " f " word.

This is a lie.
