He wears a mask to reduce the risk of any infectious agent. Bacterial is the first. But not the only. Because it is not 100% effective even for bacterial threats they normally pump the patient full of antibiotics.

Let’s look at it from a different viewpoint. Let’s talk about cops. They wear a bulletproof vest. It won’t save their lives in 100% of the scenarios or prevent them from being injured in every circumstance. So your argument would be don’t bother wearing it.

They park their cars when pulling someone over to put the engine between them and the potential threat. It can’t protect them from 360 degrees so why bother?

You take the actions you can to increase your odds. A vest. Placing things between you and the threat. A mask is no different.

A mask and social distancing and washing hands and all that are just to increase the odds in your favor. We can never eliminate risk. We can reduce it.

Running around demanding something be 100% effective or don’t bother is asinine. And if you don’t see that then it tells me a great deal about you too.

If it was this bad there would be a standardized mask given out to tall the people for free. I am to old and to numb to believe some things. Not they do not exist But as to severity.
