Wild West eh? He aims bow at crowd and brandishes knife..they respond by overturning his car setting it on fire, and beating his ass!

Brandon E. McCormick has said he showed up at Saturday’s downtown protest, armed with a bow and arrow, to protect police from unruly demonstrators.
Now the 57-year-old Taylorsville man, who has spent nearly two decades of his life behind bars in California and once was convicted of battery against a public safety officer, faces three felony counts for, widely shared video has shown, aiming his weapon at protesters.
All three counts are Utah’s lowest grade of felony. Each is punishable by up to five years in prison. McCormick was also charged with a misdemeanor count of threatening or using a weapon in a fight. That count carries up to a year in jail.
The Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office, which filed the charges, also asked that a warrant be issued for McCormick’s arrest with bail set at $100,000. There was no record of McCormick being booked into the county jail as of 4 p.m.
McCormick created one of the most-talked-about scenes on a day when hundreds of protesters gathered near Salt Lake City Hall and the downtown library to protest the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis and against racism and police violence. He parked his car in front of the library — on a corner where many demonstrators had gathered — and exited the vehicle.
In a posted video, McCormick, responded to a stranger who asked him if he calls himself an American with: “Yes, I’m American. All lives matter.”
The charging documents say McCormick also brandished a knife at demonstrators. He then went to the back seat of his car, the documents say, retrieved a bow and aimed an arrow at those around him. The knife and archery set appear to be the basis for two of the charges against McCormick, accusing him of being a felon in possession of a dangerous weapon.
The crowd responded by attacking McCormick and flipping his car. The vehicle was burned. Police pulled McCormick out of the melee.

But none of the rabid howler monkeys who appear to have blocked in his vehicle and then beat him to a pulp were charged with anything.
Looked like a bunch of skaters--you don't think their actions were justified? They did not 'block his vehicle' He came to the event and parked there with his bow and arrow with the stated purpose of 'protecting the police'. He was not some good citizen held at bay..he was a loonytoon with weapons..and lucky to be alive. Here in Idaho someone would have shot him for sure!

They're not "skaters"....They brought the skateboards along as weapons....There are numerous videos of these jibber punks breaking out windows and assaulting people with them.

Don't ever point a weapon unless you plan on using it. Stupid. Should. Never. Be. Rewarded.

I'm ok with that ass beating.

He failed to fire, the moron.

Never point a weapon at anyone you don't intend to shoot. including a bow. The rioters intended bodily harm to him, but he chickened out when it came time to shoot.

Justified? Beating a man nearly to death is JUSTIFIED?

This is a civil war, we must treat you as what you are, an enemy intent on killing us and ending the United States.

Uh-huh. I guess this deluded creature is a hero to you, right/ he got in his car..armed..drove out of his way to confront protestors..they were not rioters until he started the riot.
Yeah it was justified. Just as if one of those protestors had pointed a gun at him...and he shot the guy with his bow..you'd be all about praising him.

How can you support someone who is obviously crazy and went well out of his way to find trouble? I think his DEATH would have been justifiable..if not justified.

The protestors..who were being peaceful..intended no bodily harm to him until he pointed a deadly weapon at them..how is his ass-whipping anything but righteous?
Hell...he started the riot! But you'll make a martyr out of him...how funny!

The protestors..

The RIOTERS, you lying fuck.

who were being peaceful..

Hope the rioters are peaceful on your home, even if it's a cardboard box.

You lie a great deal. The rioters were attacking random people including the police.

I never understood people who sit around listening to police scanners, but that what this guy did. The police were under attack by the RIOTERS and he thought he was going to save them. He didn't grasp how vicious these rioters are. This is a civil war, if you enter a combat zone, be prepared to kill or die. He wasn't prepared to kill, so he nearly died. The enemies of America just about ended him

He is an idiot, he thought he could be Rambo and save the police from the attacking enemy army. If you go into combat, you BETTER be ready to shoot. The rioters didn't hesitate so he was nearly killed.
