Man shoots, kills attempted robbery suspect in north Harris County

Authorities say while the woman was on the phone, the two men came toward her and attempted to steal her purse. Her boyfriend then went outside, pulled a gun and shot at the suspects, killing one of them. The other suspect left the scene. It is unknown whether he was shot.

Officials say the woman's boyfriend claims he thought he saw a weapon on the suspects, but he will not face charges because was protecting a third party.
