WASHINGTON - Turns out the trouble at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, the focus of a firestorm of criticism over poor treatment of wounded war veterans, reached into the mailroom.

The Army said Friday that it has opened an investigation into the recent discovery of 4,500 letters and parcels — some dating to May 2006 — at Walter Reed that were never delivered to soldiers.

And it fired the contract employee who ran the mailroom.

I'll just bet the contract employee was "fired." Probably just relocated to a higher-paying civilian job within the government bureaucracy. Freakin' dirtbag.

Brought to you by the same "contractors" who couldn't manage to get ice to New Orleans...

Man, I love patronage.

The food and water shipments that were to go to the Superdome was blocked by Gov Blanko. She did not want to attract huge crowds to the Superdome. This has been confirmed by Red Cross officials

Please get your talking points straight Jilly

did they, perhaps, give the mail room job to Brownie after the hell of a job he did for FEMA?

That's a lie, Tweddle Dum... but do find a reputable link if you've got one.

Sorry to bust your bubble Jilly dear - but is it a fact. That is why shiw is not running for reelection, and why Ray "Chocolate Town" Nagin did not back her

Both of them fucked up bad, but the left ignores that

Jilly dear, you can even see the video on Fox News as Major Garrett reports how GOV BLANCO BLOCKED THE FOOD AND WATER shpiments

On Brit Hume this evening, FOX News correspondent Major Garrett explained that FEMA/Red Cross had a truckload of water and other necessities , however the Louisiana Department of Homeland Security DENIED it. Why? Because they didn’t want to attract more people to the Superdome or the convention center, they want to get them out. Garrett also brings to light that FEMA couldn’t initially bring the National Guard into Louisiana because it is not their jurisdiction. Who has to give them jurisdiction? Drumroll please GOVERNOR KATHLEEN BLANCO.

Dude ... the Governor controls the National Guard, not FEMA. The National Guard is the STATE militia while FEMA is a Federal agency.

The point is, the Dem Gov blocked the shipments. Yet the liberal media blamed Pres Bush for not getting the supplies to the folks
