Louisiana Supreme Court Justice Jefferson Hughes III has filed a defamation lawsuit against The Advocate’s parent company, alleging that the newspaper knowingly published false and damaging information last year about his actions in a decades-old child abuse and custody case that led to a lengthy FBI investigation.

Hughes filed his lawsuit last month in Iberville Parish, which falls within his Supreme Court district. Hughes, who lives in Livingston Parish, alleges that some of his damages occurred in Iberville Parish. The Advocate is based in East Baton Rouge Parish. The lawsuit alleges that the newspaper falsely published that Hughes had ruled in favor of the mother in the custody case while he was embroiled in a romance with her lawyer.

Looks like the newspaper is screwing with him.

I don't know what all they said about him but it's hard to believe after reading his actions he would want to drag this all back up again.
