Charlotte defunds portion of police budget for tear gas, chemical agents

North Carolina’s largest city has blocked its police department from purchasing chemical agents, like tear gas, normally used in crowd control or dispersal in the next fiscal year.

If they can't use non-lethal measures for crowd control such as rubber bullet's, flashbangs, pepper spray and tear gas to control violent mobs, what do they want them to do? It's either the police will die or the protesters will die. Cops will go down fighting.

It's non-lethal if you cooperated with police instead of attacking them. Also two of the four officers graduated the police academy 4 days before this? To make law enforcement so personally perilous upon police that no one will want to do it. Then, the minority criminals can get their reparations and appeasements and venting through stealing others peoples stuff and damaging other people physically and professionally.
