Lets force Walmart, at gunpoint, to give $5/hour raise because we are so caring

Huh?

Walmart has been voluntarily raising wages already. They are doing it to attract better talent and hopefully retain it.

Which is strange, because Repubs always say raising the minimum wage will lead to robots at the checkouts and mass layoffs

We said across the board nationally..

I never ever will get what goes through a liberal teeny tiny mind on economics..

.

So it doesn't cause economic strife, and is actually good business, at the world's largest private employer. But if it is applied on a broad scale it will fail miserably!

This from the people who brought (and continue to bring) trickle down economics!

You can't comprehend trickle up poor?

Another one that has no idea what wealth is huh?

Clever dodge. Now why exactly would something that works at the world's largest private employer not work writ large?

$15 minimum:
1) makes it illegal to employ people not worth minimum wage
2) raise prices for poor people who often shop where minimum wage folks work
3) speeds up automation and replacement of minimum wage jobs
4) teaches people that you get ahead with govt violence rather than being worth more
5) raises prices, reduces demand, and thus reduces employment
6) makes American workers even less competitive with foreign workers
7) makes a huge % of work force (42%) minimum age workers with no incentive to improve their skills.

Yes- because Stalin destroyed the Soviet economy by paying minimum wage......

LOL
yes " to each according to his needs."
Do you understand now?

sounds a lot like what liberals call a minimum wage or living wage. Coincidence that our liberals spied for Stalin and gave him the bomb??

They voted for massive tariffs. .
I think they voted for fair trade so that we could sell in China as easily as they can sell here!!
Oh Ed. A self-styled economic know-it-all defending artificial controls making the market more fair. :lmao:

any govt action or control that causes real free trade is good. Do you understand
Your support for artificial controls and Marxist markets proves that you have a tiny IQ, and that you don't belong here

1. A minimum wage isn't compulsory hiring??? Duh?
2. Have Walmart's prices increased?
3. No it hasn't. See JPM and the number of tellers vs ATMs
4 and 7. Yep. We are just going to abolish colleges. No one will even sign up for school anymore. The almighty $15 is so great no one will ever see use in advancing themselves. Jesus that is stupid
5. Prices don't always increase. Learn some econ
6. Ridiculous. Other countries pay living wages now. Also, the differing minimum wages within this country don't have this impact. Companies haven't been fleeing Seattle or New York for Alabama

No dodge...

It's real real real simple raise MW across the board nationally it doesn't do anything except make more people make minimum wage and more revenue for the federal government. Instead of now 2% make minimum wage, raise it to $12 bucks an hour you would have around 20% of workers make minimum wage .

It provides no additional wealth to those poor workers.

See high minimum wage countrys like New Zealand... They still have a huge problem with working poor.

A company raises its wages those employees get ahead

A state raises it Minimum wage those workers lucky enough to keep a job with out their company folding get ahead..

Comprehend?

You raise it to $15 bucks an hour? Well 50% of working Americans make $15 or less..

Get the picture now? Those $15 dollar an hour workers today won't get a $15 dollar an hour raise to $30 an hour more like a $2 dollar an hour raise.. To $18 an hour...

Just trickle up poor

Could it be just a fucking coincidence that they want a higher National Minimum wage?

Liberals quit blowing smoke you are not fooling anyone except your sheep

.

3. No it hasn't. See JPM and the number of tellers vs ATMs

so the liberal has discovered that the more you are forced at gunpoint to pay workers the more workers you hire and the fewer machines to replace workers you buy?? A liberal will always make profound new discoveries.

You need to prove they did go up. You're the one alleging a change in the status quo.

That's a real life example. Argue against it until you're blue in the face, but it happened. Technology doesn't always replace workers brother
