As for China, perhaps the real difference is the history. China has so much....winning and losing...then winning through cultural assimilation of their conquerors.

Their perspective is far from ours...they implicitly believe in the superiority of the Han people..to them it's as real as water is wet.

Our melting pot ideal is madness to them..cultural diversity unthinkable.

To the Chinese leaders, their victory is just a matter of when, not if.

This is what history has taught the Chinese.
