Just saw the article from Mediate on the Drudge report, about the Q Shaman's lawyer and his defense of Jacob Chansley, known as the Q Shaman. Yes, it will try to put the blame on trump and trump's rhetoric in Washington and the last 4 years. No surprise there, whether it will work or not. His second effort is more toward mitigating the circumstances possibly on diminished capacity, but the way he expresses it is a hoot.
Watkins, the “Q Shaman” Jacob Chansley’s attorney, said his client had Asperger’s syndrome and indicated that Chansley’s mental state — and the impact of Trump’s “propaganda” efforts — would play a role in his case.
“A lot of these defendants — and I’m going to use this colloquial term, perhaps disrespectfully — but they’re all fucking short-bus people,” Watkins told TPM. “These are people with brain damage, they’re fucking retarded, they’re on the goddamn spectrum.”
“But they’re our brothers, our sisters, our neighbors, our coworkers — they’re part of our country. These aren’t bad people, they don’t have prior criminal history. Fuck, they were subjected to four-plus years of goddamn propaganda the likes of which the world has not seen since fucking Hitler.”

Well when your client is nailed to the cross, I guess your choices are to meet with him 5 minutes before his trial for the first time, or go with the facts you have.

From Vanity Fair .. Lol!

There’s a lot to unpack here, but first, let’s pause to appreciate that Watkins thinks it might be offensive to use the phrase “short bus,” but he really can‘t be sure. The Missouri–based lawyer then goes on to conflate intellectual disabilities, brain damage, and Autism, which of course are three separate things. To say nothing of the fact that there’s no evidence that any of them cause people to act violently, or try to overturn presidential elections. After offending who knows how many people, Watkins—who, incidentally, defended the St. Louis couple who pointed guns at Black Lives Matter activists—

Nailed to the cross? You mean when he’s stupid enough to wear something that stupid and noticeable to an insurrection?

Republicans are not as up to date with the latest insurrection fashions as the democrats are.

The idiots could have worn covid masks that would hide their identity, to an extent, but I guess they thought they were the only ones with cameras. Heck the professional thugs trump sent to some of the riots knew to wear masks and not have identifying clothing, when they jerked people off the streets in their unmarked non-government plate vans. Dumb asses that hold up convenience stores often do it. Basic common sense says if you are going to do illegal crap (especially violent crap) in public you avoid showing your identity if you can. Oh yeah, you probably should not post video of you federal crimes on your facebook page. Just sayin..,

Oh that's great! That's even better than Kraken Powell's "no reasonable person" defense.

With geo fencing they would probably know who most of them are just based on the phones in their pockets even if they were wearing bags over their head. The video footage or selfies just gives them no wiggle room as to who had that phone that day. Match some ink up on an arm to a post 3 years ago on instagram with the same ink + cell phone tracking=They're busted.
