WASHINGTON - After meeting with Mexican President Felipe Calderón, U.S. lawmakers from Texas and Arizona said Thursday that they would seek to expedite a transfer of helicopters, airplanes and equipment to Mexico

Congress has approved the transfer under the $1.3 billion Merida Initiative designed to help the Mexican government combat narcotics cartels.

Rep. Silvestre Reyes, D-Texas, who led the congressional delegation to Mexico, said border lawmakers were working with the Obama and Calderón administrations "to develop the next phase of assistance."

Reyes, Rep. Henry Cuellar, D-Texas, and Rep. Ed Pastor, D-Ariz., met with Calderon in Mexico City.

Cuellar said he asked the president about recent sightings of Mexican military helicopters over U.S. territory south of Laredo in Zapata County. One of Calderón's aides said Mexico was discussing the situation with U.S. officials, Cuellar said.

If this was not so tragic, it would be comical. Wonder what has happened to ALL the BILLIONS that the USA has given to Mexico ALL the years past??? They seem to go from bad to worse in that inept, miserable country. Just wondering....

Annex Mexico and install Sheriff Joe and Rudy Giuliani as Governor and Lt Governor.

Decriminalize drugs and the violence ends in under a week
