Almost cerainly an assassination attempt and the main characters got out of McCarran Airport ( just a top rifle shot from the Mandelay hotel) using the planes that are otherwise 100% reserved for the daily flights during the week to Area 51-- employees only. The Boeing 737s called the Janet airline .
Actual shooting anomalies are huge as were the number of witnesses that died and disappeared who talked too much .

Yes, he could...and it wouldn't even be hard. Couple suitcases, a garment bag, an airline golf club carrier (all very common sights in Vegas) would work, and nobody would even raise an eyebrow. Heck, my uncle's target rifle case would raise no eyebrows as luggage if not for the stickers on it.

Multiple trips....in-out. All on camera. The amount of rounds fired? Thats a lot of weight to smuggle in. All in one day or Hidden from housekeeeping etc? Multiple rifles? Handguns? Stands? The hotel is so huge that he could easily just blend into the crowd. Four trips could easily be four different bellhops-and leaving with a golf club carrier and returning a couple hours later? Not even going to raise an eyebrow.

Imagine 4 separate trips, with a full cart, over the course of 4 days.

I was just in a hotel for 4 nights-because it was a gaming convention, probably half the people were lugging in boxes, totes, rolling toolboxes(!), and multiple bags. I had a big suitcase, my laptop bag, a second laptop bag that contained gaming stuff, a tote bag that contained other game stuff (wouldn't fit in the laptop bag), a cooler, and a case of water. One guy had four big Sterilite totes on a rolling cart. Another had seven Banker Boxes and a handtruck.
