On Aug. 12, 2020, the Twitter account of Joseph Blakeney Brown Jr. — the American lawyer and television personality best known for the reality court show “Judge Joe Brown” — tweeted a purported image of the birth certificate of U.S. Democratic vice presidential candidate Sen. Kamala Harris, along with text claiming Harris’ parents had identified her as “Caucasian” on that certificate:

Whatever the provenance of the document pictured here, it doesn’t demonstrate anything about how she was racially identified at the time of her birth. The circled field above is clearly part of the section labeled “Mother of Child” and designates the “Color or Race of Mother,” so it identifies Harris’ mother (who was herself born in India) — not Harris herself — as “Caucasian”:

Why does kamala's birth certificate state CAUCASIAN?

let me help, Gracie-----the FACT is that the term RACE means very little. SPECIES means lots------but "race" is virtually an artificial distinction in the world of LIVING THINGS. A species if a group of living things that
COMINGLE in nature----ie they screw and have progeny. A race is something like a "STRAIN" in the flower and plant world. Pollination is something like screwing.
There are many examples of CROSS POLLINATION between one strain of capsaicin and another which
produces HYBRID peppers in your garden. Gardeners are cautioned-----don't grow this guy near that guy or you will not have a TRUE STRAIN. Same is true of dog breeders. RACE is like strain or "breed of dogs"-----
fact is we (the HUMANS OF EARTH) have been cross breeding for millennia----but we make some distinctions anyway----somehow COLOR----a virtually meaningless marker has become THE DISTINCTION---the the real science of biology----it is virtually useless

Indian people are racially CAUCASIAN ----according to the anthropologists who INVENTED the race distinctions. Skin color is not the only or most important feature

for the record-----native caribbeans----as far as I understand are considered to be like AMERICAN INDIAN---(yanno---like the sioux, and cherokee--etc---to be from a migration from asia and MONGOLOIDS---
Jamiacans are VERY mixed up ----Spanish invaders and black slaves. INDIANS from India are sorta migrants ---are "western asian" mixed with the natives of the Indus valley. Correct. No doubt that Harris very likely has African bloodlines in her from her father, but to say she's Black? She's easily just as much East Indian, so when does someone stop using the "Black" moniker, when they are 1/1000th like Warren is American Indian? It is fairer and more honest for her to say she's Indian-Jamaican, because that is what she really is.
