His product is heralded by the left when used by lefties or Islamists but hated when used by americans on shooting ranges

Any top 10 list of best weapons of all-time will have the AK-47 in no. 1 every time. So how should we memoralize him? Dip the AK in gasoline and light it on fire? Then shoot center-mass without a problem? :)

Give a free one to every S. Korean/N. Vietnamese little old granny who is working in her grand sons corner store in every inner city in the country. And a thousand rounds.
You have not lived until you see an eighty year old Asian granny 'hell-bitch' run screaming into a cross fire with a Mat-49 on full auto.

RIP.

The Ak-47 was/is a cheap and durable mass produced weapon.

It is easy to field strip and the loose tolerances made it almost impervious to dirt and grime.

But the loose tolerances also made it far from the most accurate weapon; and the AK-47 is very difficult to control when shooting full auto. ....

Please point out where "lefties" have every heralded violence.

Thanks.

From Prarie Fire:

Revolutionary war will be complicated and protracted. It includes mass struggle and clandestine struggle, peaceful and violent, political and economic, cultural and military, where all forms are developed in harmony with the armed struggle.
Without mass struggle there can be no revolution.
Without armed struggle there can be no victory.

Like plays/movies about killing Bush? Would they be considered pro violence? It's not easy keeping score about some of this stuff we hear from the low info crowd.

Bullshit. The M-16 is a superior weapon in accuracy and range....the eastern block doesn't use the 47 anymore, and the design was stolen from a German assault rifle made by Hugo Schmeisser. :doubt:

The german STG44 only similarity to the AK-47 is in the looks and layout.

The internal mechanisms are totally different.

And the bolt is closer to the M1 Garand than to StG44 bolt. ....

I respect what his rifle did for revolutions and poor armies.

I am an accuracy buff, so I've never been a huge fan. The Dragunov was better, but I'll still take an M1A.

I've heard that too but the AK-47 wasn't near the weapon the STG was because the russians couldn't duplicate the German ramp and extractor.

When the early M-16s became too dangerous to carry most of us went back to the M-14 for it's heavier round and reliabllity. But they were heavy and the stocks had a habit of splitting from the heat and humidity. Here's how we solved that.

It should also be remembered that GIs who picked up an AK to carry were often in the soup in thick cover because when we heard an AK report, we directed fire at it. oops.

The M14 is an excellent rifle. Better accuracy, better round, and a better rifle in general. At least IMHO.
