KEVIN McCARTHY JUST SHOT HIMSELF IN THE FOOT OVER THE JANUARY 6TH COMMISSION AGAIN!!!!!

Kevin McCarthy agreed to a commission, sent his best man to negotiate the terms of the Commission, which gave equal membership and equal subpoena powers to both parties and then McCarthy changed his mind and refused to vote for it after Trump told him no commission. This gave Nancy Pelosi the freedom to set up the Commission any way she wanted.

THAT WAS THE FIRST TIME McCARTHY SHOT HIMSELF IN THE FOOT - BY GIVING UP EQUAL MEMBERSHIP AND SUBPOENA POWER.

Pelosi used the last Benghazi Investigation Resolution as her precedent for the rules of this House Special Investigation. So her veto power over the Republican appointments to the commission is hardly an "unprecedented power grab".

McCarthy had two weeks to name his Committee members and he chose to wait until yesterday to announce his picks. Last night Banks and Jordon were giving interviews about how they were going to use their seats on the Commission go after Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats for their failure to protect the Capitol. They had no intention of investigating what happened. Their only goal was to deflect blame from Republicans in general and cast blame on Republicans.

Today, Kevin McCarthy revealed exactly what kind of circus they were planning on turning this commission into. They wanted to look into what role the racial unrest played in driving people to attack the Capitol. In addition to blaming Pelosi and the poorly trained and equipped Capitol police for the insurrection.

Then Banks and Jordan took to the microphone and proved why Nancy was wise to veto their appointments.

McCarthy set out to derail the January 6th commission because they don't want the American people to really know what happened here. They don't want you to know why it took 5 hours and a phone call from Mike Pence to get the National Guard, who had been waiting in their buses for hours, to roll to the Capitol.

Now Pelosi can get an honest, straighforward investigation of the event leading up to January 6th, without the same kind of antics and attacks on witnesses that Jordan and Banks were promising to deliver.

Pelosi wanted a bipartisan commission. A commission in which the GOP would have had equal say. That commission was rejected by the GOP. So now Mccarthy is claiming that Pelosi lost credibility because she is willing to control what members are allowed on the commission she started regardless of the GOP's unwillingness to have a bipartisan commission? And the willingness of those members that she rejected to make it into anything but a serious investigation?

It's like a kid that didn't get his way when a group decided what game to play next and then insist that they get to be in charge of that game when everybody is playing. I think that in that scenario it is clear who has a credibility problem don't you think?

And why might I ask? What are the Republicans afrain of.? Oh let me guess. That it will come to the truth will come out? They it will be proven that it was in fact an insurection and that Trump and his GOP enablers -and right wing news media- were responsable for it.
