JUST IN: Governor DeSantis Declares State of Emergency Over Gas Shortage in Florida #BidenGasLines

What exactly should Biden be doing? It's typical to blame any crisis on a president you don't like but unless you can say exactly where he went wrong it just sounds silly.
Democrats like to punish the oil industry.

Time and again.
When it comes down to brass tacks the democrats are only slightly less likely to sell us all out to Big Oil.

This is a lie.
55mph. Any state that posted higher speeds on their highways lost federal money reserves for states needing highway funding for upkeep on interstate highways. Oh wait. You hadn't been born yet when Jimmy Carter was President. He went after states who were not in accordance with the 55 mph.

Governor Ron DeSantis Tuesday evening declared a state of emergency over Florida’s gas shortage after “hackers” caused the Colonial Pipeline to shut down.

DeSantis said the state’s Attorney General is on the lookout for price gouging.

According to Fox 13, between 1/3 and 1/2 of gas stations in Florida are out of gas.

Long lines and gas shortages are being reported in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida.

Panic buying Escambia County caused gas prices to surge:

SKY HIGH GAS PRICES: We’ve received calls into the @weartv newsroom about this #gas station in #EscambiaCounty selling regular gas for $4.29/gallon. Within a minute of our news car showing up, it was dropped to $3.29. Check it out Are you paying more at the pump? #GasShortage pic.twitter.com/ghyAnQO7f6

Governor DeSantis’ executive order says “the disruption of Colonial Pipeline operations poses a significant and immediate threat to the continued delivery of such fuel products to the State of Florida and many other states located in the Eastern United States,” and the attack “poses a severe threat to the State of Florida and requires that immediate measures be taken to protect and to facilitate the continued delivery of such fuel products to this State, until such time as Colonial Pipeline operations have fully resumed.”

The order will also remove limits on weight for tanker trucks and allows them to travel around the clock.

Meanwhile, the Biden Admin is sitting back and doing nothing after a cyberattack affected gas distribution for 1/3 of the country.

Governor Roy Cooper also declared a state of emergency over North Carolina’s gas shortage.

True, and lives were saved. I remember it well, it went into effect at midnight and my then girlfriend and I were at new years party in the East Bay; we then lived in San Francisco. Lots of CHP was afoot on the highways leaving us to mind the speed limit for the 50 miles or so to our Apt. - lots of cars were being towed as those who had consumed too much were busted for DUI's - stopped for speeding and/or weaving.

LOL! Colonial paid the ransom. You can buy gas for your stupid lawn mower. You and all the Dummies here. Fuck off.

Driving in Georgia last Thursday was the worst of what I've. Last Wednesday evening, all the station had left was 93 octane for $3.99 a gallon, which I bought.

My local gas stations have plenty of gas and prices haven't really gone up...

I saw a guy yesterday filling up a large boat with at least fifty gallons while a dozen cars waited. Trump sticker of course.
Most John Deere farm tractors around here have 500 gallon tanks, so what
Aren't those usually fueled from a truck rather than the gas station? It takes about 15 minutes to pump 50 gallons of gas at the station. People have things to do and places to be while boat boy clogs up the lane with his toy. Happens all the time around here.
maybe he fishes for his income. You're blaming the cancer on the lung, instead of where it rightly belongs..... your boy
It's almost like after four years you suddenly remember the president can be blamed for things that go wrong. In this case the right has yet to point to this pipeline hack and connect it with any specific thing Biden did or didn't do.
Well, for 4 years the anit Trump crowd has been saying russia, russia, russia. Why weren't they looing to stop it.
It's like all words but no action

You're FOS.

'Meanwhile, the Biden Admin is sitting back and doing nothing after a cyberattack affected gas distribution for 1/3 of the country".

May 10 2021
The US government declared a regional emergency after a key pipeline was hit by a cyberattack and warned that such attacks are “here to stay.”
On Sunday, the US government enacted the emergency declaration, in order to keep the supply lines open as fears of shortages rose. The declaration allows the fuel to now be transported by road to the affected states.

The disruption has affected 18 states which have been granted temporary hours of service waiver for transporting gasoline, diesel, jet fuel and other refined petroleum products.

It includes Alabama, Arkansas, District of Columbia, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia.

2 DAYS after Biden did.

What exactly should Biden be doing? It's typical to blame any crisis on a president you don't like but unless you can say exactly where he went wrong it just sounds silly.

This is a lie.
Sorry, the rise in the pump prices and oil shortages belie President Biden's Holy War against the oil pipeline his first day in office cost tens of thousands of jobs and auxiliary jobs to the oil industry so now all the oil companies abroad took advantage of gas prices and the added shipping we now have to pay as demand to accommodate America's sophisticated travel arrangements suffer on the family that cannot make a bid on the higher prices for electric cars not to mention a glut on the electric power demands for these electricity eating monsters that will bankrupt us all. And I don't think the Green new deal thought any of that over in their power grab that will severely widen the gap between the filthy rich and the extremely impoverished poor and single working moms.

With all due respect I don't think you realize what the "Green New Deal" plans on phasing oil use in its entirety. No exceptions.

The GND hasn't exactly been a legislative winner has it? You people talk about it more than democrats. It was only ever a big policy wish list by environmental advocates rather than something that could ever happen. The reality is that democrats take money from big oil too and in return pretty much leave them alone. There's a lot of talk about phasing out fossil fuels but that's all it really is.
