It just rose above the treetops here in the central states.

That means it's halfway up the eastern sky in the east and an hour or so from rising in the mountain states...you've got a couple hour wait in the west.

Go out and have a look, it's far and away the brightest star in the sky.

Even the cheapest binoculars will reveal Jupiter as a disk...and a fair pair will resolve at least one moon in all but the most light polluted skies.
