Sen. Jon Tester (D-Mont.) won re-election against Rep. Danny Rehberg (R-Mont.), projected the Associated Press on Wednesday morning.

Tester had a tough reelection challenge against Rehberg, with the race virtually tied throughout its duration.

Tester won election in 2006 in a Democratic wave, and was a prime target for Republicans in their hopes to take over the Senate.

At the presidential level, Romney won the state by 13 points.

The race incurred nearly $30 million in outside spending, with a majority of the cash favoring Rehberg. 89,000 television ads ran in the state from June to October, according to the Wesleyan Media project, more than any other race in the country.

This was a very good outcome for the country.

Democrats kicked ass in the Senate races picking up two seats

A year ago, it looked like they would lose five

Thanks TeaTards....the gift that keeps giving

Dirty little secret is that the democratics pumped a bunch of money into the campaign of the libertarian in that race.

I guess you don't grasp the irony of a libertarian like yourself portraying as dirty the fact (if it is a fact) that a Libertarian candidate had the means to do better than he might have done otherwise.

The first thing he will do is reelect Harry Reid to control every piece of legislation in the Senate. THEN he will be allowed to vote "no" on specific bills that are otherwise assured of passage so that he can hoodwink the morons who elected him. Ever wonder why Senate Democrats become more "conservative" in the two years before their next election? Good grief!

You mean the GOP-shill libertarians were used against the GOP? That's a hilarious bit of irony.

If the libertarian lapdogs can be ordered to sic their masters, how can the Republicans ever trust their libertarian poodles again? I can see why this has the Republitarians so upset.

Just type "I don't know shit about libertarians or the Libertarian Party".

Guess you turds can't win an election without bankrolling the campaign of someone you hate and know is going to lose, just so you can win.

That's smarter than voting for someone you know is going to lose, which, in a nutshell,

is the past, present, and future of Libertarianism.
