That sideshow only punctuated with empty threats of a fleet heading there that was not even in the same ocean and actually heading in another direction. Empty bellicose pronouncements and outright lies do nothing for world confidence in us as leader of the free world, as every intelligence service of every country can tell by satellite where and how our navies major resources are and where they are heading.
His support for international treaties, unilaterally dropped (mostly because it showed his base that anything supported by previous administration was automatically bad, has added to the uncertainty of whether the US can be counted on in a pinch, as international decisions of this type made, purlsy for domestic politics instead of world stability have that effect. Not politically advantageous to mention right wing extremist agitators when you have left wing extremists to shoulder all the blame. If right wing players are helping incite, burn and murder, it still incites the left condemnation on the left as it makes the violence worse. His choice not to mention when he had a justice department with evidence (probably why he had lack of support originally from justice) added to confusion, did not inform the public, or aid in safeguarding the public. His handling further divides and weakens the nation. His attempt to bring Federal or Federalized troops into the frey is and was regarded as an assault on the intent of the founding fathers against having the nation controlled by Federal Troops. This was around the time of his gassing protestors, peaceful at that time, so that he might have a photo Op at the church. Being resisted on using Federal troops, he turns to Homeland Defense to martial a strike force of Feds from many different agencies to strike into what he determines is enemy territory, with masked unidentifiable troops in unmarked cars, his own private little federal army, not just guarding Federal buildings, but snatching citizens up off the streets not even nears protest or violent encounter. Breaking of norms is counter to the intent of the Constitution and further weakens the country.

He continually tried to put the blame on pre existing conditions, but everybody knows their loved ones were living with their conditions fine before the disease, not exactly the consoler in chief when the country needs one. He influence division on the effort to combat the disease and in turn weakens the effort and make us weaker as a nation in time of public health crises.
The economy is in shambles, the country leads the world in sickness and death. we do not lead on standing up to regional strongman dictators and historic enemies and are not at the moment looked at as that shining city on the hill, leader of the free world. Couple this with domestic attacks on law, domestic institutions, the military, the environment, the weather bureau, and anybody or anything else his demented little twitter fingers can light on has weakened this country and all of it happened on his watch.
