Reports have come in that the last C-17 Globemaster departed Afghanistan at 11:59 p.m. local time on Aug. 30, effectively abandoning hundreds of Americans stranded in the country.

Commander of U.S. Central Command Gen. Kenneth F. McKenzie announced Monday that the last American planes had left Afghanistan, ending 20 years of American military occupation, and leaving the country completely in the hands of the Taliban. According to the commander, there are still hundreds of Americans in Afghanistan.

We did not get everybody out that we wanted to get out,” he said.

After a hasty, disorganized evacuation effort — and an ISIS-fueled attack at the Kabul airport that claimed 13 American service members’ lives — the Biden administration announced the end of its troop withdrawal in the country. Although 122,000 people, including Americans and Afghans, have been evacuated from Afghanistan since July, the Biden administration left hundreds of Americans in the Taliban-controlled war zone.

Many, including Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, are demanding answers from Biden, railing against the administration for knowingly leaving American citizens on the ground.

So Trump would have kept troops in Afghanistan until every single American was out? Do you really believe that shit? I mean those Americans had plenty of notice, more than a damn year. If they are still there today it is their damn fault. Whatever happened to personal responsibility that you Republicans pontificate about so much? The reality,, you fools are bitching just to be bitching.

Yes, of course....that's simply basic common sense.

If you had a visa or paperwork to get you out of there and the rest of your family didn't then yes you would stay because you don't want to leave your family behind. As is is, if they were friends of America and the Taliban finds them they will die.
So, its a little more complicated than you so simply state.
Biden did a lousy job unless you are one of those people trying to make excuses for him. Just listen to what our European allies have to say about him. HE showed so much weakness he just destabalized the situation throughout asia. NK is now emboldened, so are the Communist Chinese. No one will be looking for the U.S. as a leader for quite a while because they don't know if they can count on us to have their back. How can you so simply say Biden did a good job?

The thread is not about Florida..... it's about Afghanistan.

Nope. As soon as the Biden Admin saw the country was collapsing he needed to take a strong
action. We had time but not the political will/ Everyone knows the extraction date was arbitrary depending on the ground situation. The Taliban should have feared US, not the other way around.
Biden was worried what the Taliban would think.
Obama would have done a job 10 times better than Biden if the roles were reversed.

Where's the logic in what you just wrote "Some of those wanted to stay"? Do you really believe people looking at the possibility of being, hung, beheaded or shot by the Taliban want to stick around to see this happen to them?

Yeah, I have to agree that even Obama would have listen to the intel, and had the will to make that clear and not simply try to rush things through for a cheap 9.11 political stunt

Fake news.

People weren’t going to leave Afghanistan until they were in danger. They weren’t going to be in danger until the military left.

Saying the military should have gotten people out earlier is a catch 22.
