The should really be going after members of congress before Trump. The attackers had very detailed maps of the capital building, including saferroms and high-security areas that are not shown on publically available layouts. Someone with access to these secure details gave them to the attackers. And there are numerous sitting members of Congress who are known to have ties w to and support the groups wh planned the attack. Marjorie Taylor Greene , for example has tries to the Proud Boys, several of whom have been indicted on cospiracy charges. The FBIfound evidence that they had planned the attack weeks before and that they were intend to kill members of Congress and in one of the messages they said they would specificallyTarget capital poice to kill in order to make it easier to move through the capital building to take outtheir main targets.

I think we have a pretty good idea of how stuff works around this person. In order:

1. Some kind of situation presents itself, such as a problem, a threat or an opportunity
2. Trump asks his people for their input
3. One of them, pursuing favor, blurts out some ridiculous, absurd, hyper-Trumpy "idea" that paints Trump in a light usually reserved for only the most accomplished angels
4. Trump latches on to it, not unlike the way a healthy and highly-experienced tick attaches itself to its prey. Simultaneously, the other advisors in attendance quietly sigh, look down, roll their eyes and slowly shake their heads
5. Trump immediately, and without even the slightest sense of irony or self-awareness, makes it public and embellishes the already-comical idea with his special mix of flaming hyperbole and grade school-level vocabulary
6. TrumpWorld loves every word and swears allegiance to the latest example of Trumpian brilliance. The rubes buy it completely, while politicians and politicos (most of whom know better) begin calculating some kind of spin
7. The rest of the world observes with its mouth agape, wondering how America got to this place. Anyone who dares to plaintively point out this latest humiliation is immediately met with chants of "commie", "Hitler", and/or "TDS"
