First off, I don't think that Trump or his followers know what a fireside chat is, or why it was done. It certainly wasn't so a president could bitch and moan about how unfairly he's been treated while reading a SUMMARY (not transcript), of the Ukraine phone call.

Matter of fact, on the FIRST PAGE of the phone call document, at the bottom, it says that it's a summary and not a word for word account of what was said. Summaries don't have to be word for word accurate, but transcripts do.

Now, if he's gonna read the actual transcript of what was said word for word, yeah, I'd probably watch it, but if he's just gonna read from the summary that has already been released, won't be worth my time.

Besides, what does he think, he has a voice like Mezmer and he's gonna somehow hypnotize us into thinking he hasn't done anything wrong?
