The so-called Arab Spring unleashed forces that have been dormant for a century. Like their counterparts throughout the region, Israel’s Arabic-speaking minorities are changing in profound ways. But our leaders fail to grasp the implications of what is happening.

Consider the Christian community.

Father Gabriel Nadaf, a Greek Orthodox priest from Nazareth, has become the symbol of this new period. Nadaf is the spiritual leader of an Israeli Christian movement calling for Israeli Christian youth to serve in the IDF. He is responsible for the 300% rise in Christian Arab enlistment in the IDF in the past year.

Nadaf does not hide his goal or his motivation.

His seeks the full integration of Israel’s 130,000 Christians into Israeli society. He views military service as the key to that integration.

Nadaf is motivated to act by the massive persecution of Christians throughout the Arab world since the onset of the Arab revolutionary wave in December 2010.

As he explained in a recent interview with Channel 1, it is “in light of what we see happening to Christians in Arab countries, how they are Slaughtered and Persecuted on a daily basis, Killed and Raped just because they are Christians.

Does this happen in the State of Israel? No, it doesn’t.”

Good article. Let the truth be known to all. Also interesting is the case of the Palestinian citizens of Israel. Despite their criticism of Israel, let us consider how many have chosen to end their Israeli citizenship to go back to living in some Arab country under Muslim rule.

And the guy on the right looks drunk.
Impossible! He drinks Laphroaig Islay Single Malt 18 YO.

A smoky peat nose tinged with blackberries and apples, best served with a tot of pure spring water to lift the experience. Matured in oak sherry casks used only once and then sent to another distillery for further use.

Prefer an islay origin myself has a glow to it

Israel segregates non Jewish military personnel in the IDF and Christian Arabs are subject to the same military obligations as Jews.

It certainly isn't surprising that the anti-Semites suck up to the Muslims on these forums since they are they are fellow travelers when it comes to the Jews. Meanwhile, maybe Sunni Man can tell us why his fellow Muslims had to beat up this priest's son just because his father has no problem with Christians joining the IDF. I thought it was very telling that this priest denied that the Christians were Arabs and called them by another name. After all, there were Christians living in Israel before the Arabs left the Saudi Peninsula and started invading surrounding countries.

Do tell ...

Sunni Man, as a good Muslim convert, doesn't want the readers reminded that the Muslims were actually Johnny-come-latelys, in many, many parts of the Middle East. He doesn't want the readers to be informed that the Arabs left the Saudi Peninsula and attacked the people in the surrounding countries, forcing many to convert to Islam and killing many who refused. Now the descendents who were lucky enough to survive this onslaught can't even practice their religious beliefs in peace. Case in point -- the Christian Copts. However, Sunni Man, will continue with his ridiculous "Do tells," "No doubts," and "And.s" like the ridiculous man he is. Maybe the guy who has Achmed the Terrorist in his act should consider having Sunni Man on his lap as the "Good Muslim Convert" dummy.
