"A judge on Tuesday granted Jackson County prosecutors’ motion to exonerate Kevin Strickland in a 1978 triple murder and ordered his immediate release, confirming that Strickland suffered one of the longest wrongful convictions in U.S. history. The motion is the first of its kind under a new Missouri law — that sought to exonerate Strickland, now 62. Strickland’s first trial in 1979 ended in a hung jury of 11 to one, with the only Black juror holding out for acquittal. A prosecutor called including a Black juror a mistake he “wouldn’t make again.”
Jackson County prosecutors began reviewing Strickland’s conviction in November 2020 after speaking with his lawyers and reviewing The Star’s investigation. Following a months-long review of the case, Baker’s office in May announced that Strickland is “factually innocent” in the April 25, 1978, triple murder."

Mike Parson on Wednesday said he is not convinced that Kevin Strickland is innocent, making him the first official to publicly doubt prosecutors’ assertions that the Kansas City man was wrongly convicted four decades ago. Parson’s comments came weeks after 13 state lawmakers, including the Republican chair of the Missouri House committee that oversees the state’s prison system, called on Parson to pardon Strickland."
Having that sort of bravery and telling the CRT-lefist-woke-tranny mob to go take a hike is the sort of courage worthy of getting some serious vice-presidential cred going into 2024...Nothing excites the base more than telling them that you are so tough on crime that you will never release these thugs onto our streets -- even if they are innocent...the guy has been in prison for 40 years now, he is no longer innocent...so Parsons was right to keep this criminal locked up...So if prosecutors and state lawmakers need to pass a special law to help free this guy, so be it....and if some woke leftist judges are willing to order the release of this guy, then our country is really lost...
Luckily, patriotic hero Mike Parsons knew how important it was to not give in to the CRT-woke-left narrative that our judicial system is inherently biased against black defendants...ESPECIALLY in the 1970's...Just because the prosecutors office is suddenly now telling you he is innocent based on the facts, so what? It is a more Christian conservative and a more morally sound position; to believe the previous prosecutors, not these new Ivy league educated soyboy leftists... Thankfully, this murderer will not be entitled to a single dime of money if he decides to sue the state....By the grace of God, exonerated people can only get compensation if they were found innocent based on DNA evidence...not fake evidence. Parsons should definitely campaign on this case and hopefully his stock will rise up in the GOP and we see him on someone's presidential ticket soon.
